    New coach a CC

You're right, this should be very interesting for the people at CC. If they thought Hill was a strick coach, wait until Sherrill gets there. Truth being told, the only thing that Coach Hill did wrong at CC, was to play the best players in the games. They only lost what, 3 games? Doesn't seem like such a bad coach to me. Any coach worth their salt, will put the needs of their team, ahead of the wants of certain individuals. The parents, should only be concerned with whether or not their girl is being mistreated. Simply playing a freshman player ahead of a junior player because of talent, is not mistreatment. But this should have been handled by the gutless principal and the weak AD. To let any parent dictate policy in a public school athletic program is rediculus. If you look closely at the players who have signed good college scholarships, the first thing that will be obvious, is that these young women worked their tails off every day of their lives, to be the very best they could be, and if more student atheletes would learn that it takes HARD WORK and great work ethics to make it to the next level, we would not have these problems with the parents. And let's be perfectly clear here, the problem does lie mainly with the parents.

nc2aump, Thanks for your opinion but thats exactly what it is. You dont have full knowledge of the subject at hand and should therefore quit accusing parents and student-athletes of wrong doings. The players were mistreated on several occasions. They were ridiculed, embarrassed, and shunned upon for not being what some would call a "suck up". She showed favoritism and divided what was a team of friends. She would not speak with the parents and treated the JV coach and players as if they had no brains at all. You say that we only lost three games, well look at the talent level of every girl on that team. Anyone could have coached and we would have done the same. For the record, if she did in fact play a freshman over a junior (and i assume you are speaking of the pitching or center field) for reasons purely because of skill level, then yes she did do the right thing, but preconcieved notions and pressure from outside sources played major roles in every decision made on that team, not just playing time. What central cabarrus needed was a coach with a brain of their own, and I believe we got it. Lets all hope for a fresh start this year at CC and hope for the best.

All those parents welcome Coach Sherrill. Not one girl on the CC team expects anything less than hard work. As I said before, it was not playing time or freshman status that was the problem. It was how she treated the team. She had five favorites and the rest did not exist in her eyes, yet the rest helped her win those games. She might have won the last one if she had looked beyond her favorites. That freshman is a great pitcher but she was struggling during the last game with Hopewell and needed to come out. Obviously your kid was not subjected to some of her abuse, but believe me, she mistreated a lot of girls and I don't mean by not playing them.

    WHAT A STEAL

Sherrill going to Central Cabbraus to coach Gina Allen and Co. could be the same as Joe Torre arriving in the Bronx to manage the Yankees and Derek Jeter. Shockwaves are going to be felt all through the 4A ranks.
Can you imagine what will happen if CC and Sherrill meet up with AC. If it happens I'll be there.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER TROOPS:D

    CC's former coach

As a matter of fact, I know most of the principles in this matter. I know there personalities and the way they behave around this sport, not only at CC. I also know Coach Hill and know first hand what kind of person and coach she is. She is a very dedicated individual to the girls and the sport, and expects the utmost attention to detail in practice and in games. Most good coaches make their game-day decisions on what players do at practice, not by which parents are going to be upset by their girl not playing as much. As for talking to the parents, why would someone subject themselves to the very same parents that charged her on the field, belittled her to her peers and tried to intimidate her by any means they could. No, the bottom line here is that people that were once in charge and the center of attention, were PO'd when someone came in and didn't bow to the parental "buddy-buddy" system. And some of the things I have expressed here are not only my views, but the views of some of these same people's close friends. LET THE GIRLS PLAY THE SPORT TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES AND NOT TO THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE PARENTS, LET THEM GAIN STATUS ON THEIR OWN MERITS.
