NEW COACH AT CC

You know, all you want to do is say the coach was demoralizing to the players. The proper phrase would be honesty. Something most of these girls have never experienced before. From playing for their dads or for people that their dads can manipulate, they do not learn the most important lesson in life. That lesson is FRUSTRATION and how to deal with it and overcome it. Stop looking outside for reason as to why things were the way they were and start looking within. The hardest thing for someone to do is to be completely honest with themselves and for those parents to be completely honest with their girl. Only a small percentage of softball players go on to play college softball, but the parents seem to think that if they push enough money in certain directions, that they can affect the overall outcome. The only problem with Coach Hill is that she would bow to the pressure and intimidation of these overbearing fathers. I know for a fact that neither of the fathers would have approached Carroll Cox with the same attitude. It's easy to BLAME, but extremely hard to SELF-EVALUATE! But all that aside, if you are a player, I wish you all the luck in the future and look forward to seeing you at the next level.

 

I guess we all have our own opinions. Let's just wait until next year and see how CC does. I can bet the spirit of the team will return along with the talent!

 

One thing that no one has mentioned yet is that this is the second school that Coach Hill has left because of unhappy parents due to the degrading and humiliating of the players. Does anyone see a trend here?

 

I was a player of Coach hill and from expierance yes she was a good coach and knew the game. She was a good coach to FEW of the players. She only worked with about 5 of the players and everyone else she could care less about. Unless you were on that team do not open your mouth and say how she is a good coach since you did not put up with her crap. As to HEREWEGO, I dont know who you are but it is very obvious that you were one of her "favorites" otherwise known as the Only players she cared about. Of course you saw NO PROBLEM wrong with Coach hill becuase you were so far up her butt. I am pretty sure who you are HEREWEGO. Hey maybe if the rest of the team had invited coach hill to dinner then they could have been on the "favorite" list of players. I am very happy that Coach hill is gone. Couldnt have been a better move. Yes, we do need a strict coach and i know Monty Sherill will be that but i know that he will also unite the team not divide it. I know that college coaches are strict and dont bow down to parents but i also know that they dont have favorites, everyone is equal. About the pitching I know a pitcher that could have stepped in and taken the freshman's place. That freshman gave up a run (you know if it had been ANYONE ELSE then they would be sitting the bench). Also i know that one of her Other "favorite" missed a ball in OF, when the same thing happened last year the girl sat the bench. Now do you see favortism? That is not all and i will not continue, theres just TOO MUCH.

How right you are. Unless you were there day in and day out, you can't know what anyone is talking about. As for HONESTY, you can tell a player what needs works without belittling them. But I'm sorry coach never had the time to help anybody but the favorite few. She wasn't honest, she didn't care!

 

I didn't start this thread to bash Coach Hill but to welcome the new Coach on board.Coach Hill is gone and it seems we all have a different view on everything. Why do some of you feel you need to put down other players on your team. If you have a issue with a Coach it is between you and that coach and don't bring other people into your issues. It doesn't matter anymore because the next year started with the last out of the last game. I believe there was enough errors in the last game if she replaced everyone who made a mistake there were not enough on the bench play so lets move on to something postive.

 

I HOPE CC HAS MORE CLASS THAN THE FOLKS AT ACHS. ACHS HAS LOST A GREAT FOOTBALL COACH/ SOFTBALL COACH. ACHS WILL NEVER RECOVER FROM THIS GREAT LOSS!! I UNDERSTAND ACHS FOOTBALL HAS WON A TOTAL OF FIVE GAMES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS AND THE SOFTBALL TEAM FELL FLAT ON ITS FACE THIS YEAR!! SOUNDS LIKE ACHS IS IN GREAT HANDS... HOKE, DEAL AND HARPER APPEAR TO BE NOTHING SHORT OF WINNERS!!! HA! HA! THESE GUYS ARE NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS SHERRILL AND THEY KNOW IT!!!

 

WOW!! The pedestal seems to get taller by the hour. Hope one can balance himself on it. I thought this was high school fastpitch not college or pro. Maybe this coach should move on up a level or two if has proven to be that great. Just an observation made by all of the built up replies. Good luck to CC.

Coach turned down SEVERAL offers to coach in college, I witnessed one college administtrator offer him a university job on the spot. He declined. I guess he liked Ac too good.
