State Games are supposed to be about the best HS players in the State....okay......but a player who received Player of the Year in his Conference...helped lead his team to their first State Championship Tournament in 30 years...led his team in hits, RBI's and HR's.....finished the year 10-0..that's right...he was NEVER beaten this year....and he is not one of the best players in the state this year?

C'mon... Rob Wilson is arguably the Top Ten in the Whole State..forget about West or East. This was a horrible injustice and I'm sorry he didn't have the chance to play one more series of games representing his school.

...Can you picket the games :D

...and this was not to take anything away from the players selected. they deserved it too.

I agree with you 100% Chief. Without Rob, the team is NOT made up of the 20 best players from the western part of the state.

How did he do in tryouts in comparison to the others?
Did he attend both tryouts or just one?
I have had 3 years of experience with State Games with one of my sons and his Senior year he wanted to attend both tryouts so he could see who was there and what he was up against....so if he wasn't selected he could understand why..... he was one of the 20 selected to represent the East team that year and felt that he should have been based on his performances in the two tryout sessions of the 80 that tried out.

BB9r- if you believe a player is selected based on their tryouts...well, I have a great car to sell you.

    Who selected the teams?

Was it based only on the two try outs?

Sure seems like a player such as Rob Wilson should have been on the team. He sure seems like a great person and undisputably a great player.

Rob attended both tryouts and gave it his best as he always does.

I'm sure he did...but this is my point. I have seen nearly all of the players with the exception of a few down east. Rob Wilson is equal to, if not better talented than the majority of those guys. I'm not taking anything away from those selected..they are very good, but Rob is better.

I know for a fact a Pitcher selected that did not throw at the tryouts..okay..he pitched in a previous game..I understand. But the point is that he was selected by his on field performance, not tryouts.

I don't know the player spoken about here as I am from the East....I am sure he is as good as spoken about...I just know my personal experience with my son and the State Game route for 3 years.
