    HR- Dover, Robinson, Smith

    Pineville took an early lead after Bret Robinson hit a 3-run homer. Pineville would add another before Paul Dover made it a 3-run game with his solo shot. But that's all Charlotte would get. Logan Smith later would add a 2-run homer to seal the win. Charlotte played very tough, and Rob Wilson showed a lot of heart by going out there and pitching with a broken nose. Good season for Charlotte and good luck to all the players. Pineville advances to the area 4 championship series and earns a spot in the state playoffs.

    Closer game than the score indicates, Cary blew it open in the bottom of the 8th.

    Area 1 is playing a modified double elimination tournament. Cary is the winner of the winners bracket and N. Raleigh won the losers bracket. They will now play a 3 game series to determine the Area 1 West representative to the State Tournament starting tuesday.

    Cherryville completes comeback to defeat Caldwell County in an exciting series. Chris Mason basically too much for Caldwell.

    After waiting 90 minutes to try to get field playable the umpires called the game saying the field was still not suitable to play.Kannapolis wins 6-2 in a 4 1/2 inning game.

    Eastern Randolph eliminated Burlington 4 games to 1 last night to advance to the area finals and the state tournament in Fayetteville. Congratulations to ER!
