The Carolina Cardinals began pool play today in Texas. They won their first two games. The first was against the Indiana Magic and Brooke Isley pitched. They won 5-0. The second game was against the Jersey Devils. Mendy started pitching and Brooke came in relief. They won 1-0 on a home run by Teresa Nicholas in the 6th. They threatened many times throughout the game but could not get the right combination to score. They begin bracket play later tonight at 10 p.m. Texas time.

Thanks! The girls did well last night. They won their first round of bracket play against the Texas Playmakers, 2-1. Brooke pitched and held them scoreless until the last inning. They play the Oklahoma Thrillers at 8:00 p.m tonight. Crystal Cox flies in this afternoon so we hope she makes it there in time.

Yes, there is a website that has the Nationals information. Go to fastpitchsoftball.net and click on tournaments. Then find the ASA Nationals; the brackets will pop up. Also, go to garlandgirlssoftball.com, they are hosting the National tournament. There is some great info and pictures of the fields. Also, the fastpitch website has the capability to transmit video of the games. The fields at Winter park were wired for video cameras. I have been unable to get connected however. Maybe you can have better luck! The guy from spysoftball.com has not posted anything yet.

    UPDATE

The Cardinals won another game in Texas tonight. This time the Oklahoma Thrillers were defeated 1-0. Brooke pitched another fine game with some awesome defense behind her. Crystal will hopefully pitch tomorrow's game at 2:00 p.m. Right now they are one of the top 32 teams to remain undefeated! Their next opponent is unknown at this time.

    Oh my, they won again!

Well, the girls from Carolina did it again! They just beat the Heartland Havoc from Illinois. Crystal pitched and the girls hit the ball well. They won 3-0. Next up is the California Breeze @ 8:00 tonight. That will be the toughest game yet. Right now, the girls are in the sweet sixteen of the undefeated.

    The Elite Eight!

While most of us were sleeping, The Cardinals were battling it out on the ball field last night. They came out winners again against the California Breeze, 1-0. It was an 8 inning game with Brooke going the distance. Next up the girls will face the defending national champions, The Sorceres Softball Club. It will be a tough day for the girls. Please think of them as their game begins at noon. Thanks!
