CC Football Predictions

    What are your predictions for Burns, Crest, Shelby, and Kings Mountian for the 2003 season.
    Burns is returning 8 starters on offense, 7 starters on defense
    Crest is returning 8 starters on offense, 3 starters on defense
    Kings Mountain is returning 5 starters on offense, 6 on defense
    Shelby is returning 8 starters on offense, 6 starters on defense

    I look for Burns to continue that powerful defense they had last year. I also think that they will have a good offense also this year, but it will take a few games for them to really start hitting all cylinders. The loss of Troy Goss and Nelson Woods on offense and Randy Birch on defense really hurts! But they will be in the playoffs again with well over half of their starters returning on both sides of the ball!

    As for Crest, they always have a good team. I think that they will have another great offense and defense. I only see a lack of experience on defense for them, so like Burns' offense, it will take them a few games to start play their best! But you can bet they will be in the playoffs once again!

    Shelby should have a better team than I think they have had the past 2 years, as far as comparing to CC teams anyways. Shelby should be fairly solid with over half of their starters returning on both sides of the ball! You will see them playing in mid November!

    As far as King Mountain is concerned, I think they will, like last year, again be the "weak link" in CC football. I think it will take them atleast half the season, if not more, to really gel together and play their best. They had some holes in the defense last year. Although I see them correcting those, the offense is gonna be inexperienced! They will struggle to make the 03 playoffs!

    Brandon Mauney, Crests "gonna be starting qb" transfers to Burns! Will now be starting QB at burns!

    That is true. Was given his walking papers after an outburst at the Crest coaching staff. Coach Kirby also kicked 2 other players off of the team for fighting in the parking lot after practice the other night. Crest had a very good practice yesterday, and the freshman, Jordan Robinson, is going to make a very good QB one day.

    Brandon Mauney isn't the starting QB. He hasn't even worked out with Burns. dawg02, please get your story straight before you start saying stuff like that.

    I had heard also that Brandon was already up at Burns and that he had met with Ron Greene. Don't know about practice though.

    i'll tell you like i said on another board..i got all my info from a friend who plays for crest, and was at the practice when all this happened..so sorry i thought it was good info...my fault

    KM IS THE "WEAKEST LINK"

    IT has gotten so bad at km that i have 2 go 2 a burns or a crest game in order 2 see some good games. I have a question for the person that started this topic. WHICH players do u think are returning starters for km? I know for a fact that they dont have that many returning starters from last year. FIRST u have to cancel out the entire basketball team(d.smith, dj.byrd, tae. rod., and some more). NEXT you have 2 take out last years starting slot back(at south point now). PLUS take away a couple more off the defense who started last but not playing this year. SO it is pretty safe 2 say that we will be the weakest link 4 some years 2 come.
