My mom cut this out and put it on my dresser the other day. I thought that I would share it.

" I've swung for the fences in my life. I haven't been timid about things. And so you can fail, mightily, in the eyes of people who don't want you to succeed, or haven't succeeded in something themselves, and there's a certain glee that comes with that. But it hasn't made me be timid.
    - Kevin Costner

I know this quote is a little random, but I really liked it, because it can apply to everyone. Be it an athlete, an actor, or a businessman, it can apply to you.

If you have any other quotes that you like, have made up or do think anyone else has heard, throw it on this thread for everyone to view. Thanks.

Most of these i'm sure you have heard before.

"Let the teachers teach English and I will teach baseball. There is a lot of people in the United States who say isn't, and they ain't eating." Dizzy Dean

"The job of arguing with the umpire belongs to the manager, because it won't hurt the team if he gets thrown out of the game." Earl Weaver

"We're so bad right now that for us back-to-back home runs means one today and another one tomorrow." Earl Weaver

"They told me my services were no longer desired because they wanted to put in a youth program as an advance way of keeping the club going. I'll never make the mistake of being seventy again." Casey Stengel

"If you dwell on statistics, you get shortsighted. If you aim for consistency, the numbers will be there at the end."
    Pitcher Tom Seaver

"The most cowardly thing in the world is blaming mistakes upon the umpires. Too many managers strut around on the field trying to manage the umpires instead of their teams." Umpire Bill Klem

"I made a game effort to argue but two things were against me: the umpires and the rules." - Hall of Fame Manager Leo Durocher
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Quotations From Bull Durham (1988)

"A good friend of mine used to say, 'This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.' Think about that for a while."

"God, the sucker teed-off on that like he knew I was gonna throw a fast ball. He did know. How? I told him."

"I'm your new catcher and you just got lesson number one: don't think, it can only hurt the ballclub."

"Man that ball got outta here in a hurry, you know anything that travels that far oughta have a damn stewardess on it, don't you think?"

"Quit trying to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring and besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. They're more democratic." - Crash Davis to Nuke

"Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they're fascist."

"There are 108 beads in a Catholic rosary. And there are 108 stitches in a baseball. When I learned that, I gave Jesus a chance."

"Think classy, you'll be classy. You win twenty in the show, you can let the fungus grow back on your shower shoes and the press will think you're colorful."

"Who the hell are you? I'm the player to be named later."

"Yeah, I was in the show. I was in the show for twenty-one days once."

"You guys...you lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Lollygaggers!"

"I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to keep playing baseball." - Pete Rose

And I kind of stick by the good ol', "Dont Give up, Don't Ever Give Up." quote from Jimmy Valvano.
