Way too many turnovers and untimely penalties made this game too close. NW had some good running backs - espcially #21 Tyson Stewart.

A late score ( after a Tiger turnover) and an onside kick gave NW the ball with about 2 minutes left. Ragsdale stopped them on 4th down but gave the ball back on a face mask penalty - Ragsdale stopped them on the two when NW finally ran out of time.

Toney Baker went off again - about 25 carries for 230 yards but only one TD. Andreas Platt had two TD catches but he also fumbled away two kicks - he is a great return man but he has been looking tentative this year. I sure hope he snaps out of it

This rivalry continues to provide exciting games as Avery fails a 2 pt conversion with 1 second to go.

    Mooresville 23 Alexander Central 20 (3 OT)

Mooresville pulls one out of the fire with 13 seconds remaining in regulation as O'brien kicks the game tieing field goal to send the game into OT after an AC fumble gives the Devils one more shot. QB Chip Pickard was allowed to throw the ball in OT and it paid huge dividends as two Mooresville recievers (Peoples, Oco) hauled in touchdowns and Sherrill rushes for another. The Mooresville defense played well considering that they were on the field alot in the second half as AC gained more and more momentum. This Mooresville team has the potential to move the ball via the airways while the rushing game comes together, but its gonna take a commitment in the play calling to see it through. I aint bashing anyone...just my opinion. Great effort Blue Devil players!

i'd just like to represent AC a little bit here....i'd like to say that this was an AWESOME game played very hard by both teams. I would like to say that mooresville has a very talented team and they will go far....they are also a very good sportsmanship team...and i genuinly enjoyed playing them. Both Defenses showed up and it was nothing but D the whole game from both teams. Both teams also struggled a bit on offense and you can tell they both need work. Great job to the AC and Mooresville players and congratulations mooresville for pulling that win out of your butts...it could have gone either way and i don't regret the game at all.

Congrats to Mooresville also... But ACfootball you guys played a hell of a game.. Your defense has really improved... The offensive line needs to give Kinnard just a little more time to be productive. All in all it was a nial biter to the end! I hope you guys in the blue and gold have a terrific season.. I will be watching....
