New AC Softball Coach

    Seen him, spoke to him breifly. Anyone know who he is or some back ground.... A name would be nice...

    sorry firejumper...........Mickey Bolick is his name and read the threads on AC/CC coaching situation for this past spring for more insight and fan responses. Welcome over here to Softball and you will see in the late winter till late summer this board rocks!;)

    hey firejumper

    Mickey Bolick is the new coach for AC. He is the former pitching and hitting coach for South Caldwell. As well as playing (pitcher)
    men's fastpitch for years. He is very nice and comes with high regards from parents that have had daughters coached by him for several years in school and travel teams. He is very knowledgeable of the game and what it takes to win and I am certain under his coaching that AC's past will be just that. Firejumper go check him out some time and let us know what you think without all of the tainted posts sure to come or wait and see for yourself next spring.

    Do you ask the players he dated or the non-starters? From my understanding , he is calling players at 11:00 at night. Must be some last minute instructions.

    Sounds like the same type of implicating rumors always being started on our coaches, even your favorite coach joker. Grow up and stop the gossip!! Let AC girls have their chance without all your condescending backbiting about our coaches before the rhetorical bullets start flying back at you. Those sour grapes you're chewing on is getting old. Defammation of character is not needed on this board.

    Although some of Bolick's actions with a couple of the girls at SC were probablly not approiate I don't think he ever actually dated any of the girls there. I do know several of the parents did not want their girls going places with him but I think that was mostly because of his drinking and they were afraid he may have a wreck with him driving. From what I saw and heard he probablly wasn't the best choice for your new coach having never coached before. He was only at South for about a year and a half and from what I saw and was told caused more problems than he helped. He is a very likeable person and I am sure will try hard at AC he just brings with him some baggage

    I will take your advise acfan and see for myself. Either way you look at it will be hard for anyone to take over such a successful softball program like AC and not be under the spotlight for something. Thanks for the info!!!!

    I think taking a look for yourself would be the best thing to do!! People take what they hear and blow it WAY out of site! I have played for Bolick in summer ball and I feel as if he was the best person to fill that spot this year since Sherrill is gone! He is a VERY good coach and knows softball all the way around.....considering he played himself for YEARS! As for the player things....that were said to of happened @ South....drop it people....it DID NOT happen...thats all there is to it.....I know for a FACT...considering my sister was on the South team and she just so happens to be one of the players this was said to have happened with...anyway......its over, he has the job, give the man a chance to prove himself! You will not be NEAR as disappointed with AC softball this year as compaired to last year! Good Luck!
