CPC 2004

Any thought on who will win the Central Peidmont this spring??? It should be another fun and exciting season. With the conference only getting two play-off berths could come down to conference tournament. Well what are your predictions for this spring. All five schools have played this fall this some with incomplete rosters and some with a few extra players.

My predictions

South Rowan
Reynolds
North Davidson
West Forsyth
Davie


Just a thought what do others think after seeing these teams play this fall and knowing who has what coming back.

clippers111 why do you get on here and badmouth another team??? hatred is a good form of flattery. is it because the titans usually beat you?? by the way they do play your spartans this year. i will get you a date later. i bet you new coach doesn't condone this type of attitude.

Based on last year's season, CPCbaseball is right about South Rowan and R. J. Reynolds. Those were the two teams that had berths to the state playoffs. The CPC last season was a very tight conference with very good teams, and good competition. I feel sure it will be tight again this year, and again good competition among some very good teams with talented players on each of the teams. Without knowing all of the returning players from each of the teams in the CPC, it is hard to know, and also hard to predict about the upcoming season. I do know that Reynolds had a young starting lineup last year (4 sophomores) who will be back, West has some very good returning players as well as South Rowan. I am sure the other teams in the CPC all have very good returning players as well, but am not familiar with who they are. I, for one am looking forward to another season of some great baseball in the Central Piedmont 4-A Conference! It will be here before we know it!!

 

I agree that the CPC will be interesting this season. There are 5 good teams in this conference, and with them having to play a 3 game series, like I've heard they are going to do, it should be very interesting. I am not sure where Clippers got his information, but I do know that he is very mistaken. West Forsyth always has a great program. Coach Pope does a great job, and talent is definitely not scarce in that area. I wish he would send some over here to Mustangland if he has more than he knows what to do with. It will be very interesting to watch, because Reynolds should be good, and South Rowan is up an coming, and then of course we talked about West, and as long as Poindexter is healthy and Pope can fine a couple of more guys, which I know he has, they should be very good, but then you can't overlook Davie, and North Davidson, both programs with great coaches who if you overlook will sneak up and bite you. I just want to wish everyone good luck, and can't wait until February.

 

Who are some of the top returning players from each school in the CPC?

 

i agree. i think (i am sure clipper will disagree) that it will be a race down to the wire with all teams having a chance.

reynolds has fouschee and torey johnson among others. they had a young talented group last year

south rowan has moore and many other talented players.

north davidson had an up and coming team last year that was very competitive, and will be better this year.

davie was very young last year and will be much improved.

west has a few decent players as well: poindexter, atwood to name a couple. they will have some holes to fill with 7 starters graduating.

i think it will be a tough down to the wire season. and yes mustang they are playing a 3 game conference series this year with only 5 teams in the conference.

one must give the preseason nod to reynolds or south rowan since they made the playoffs last year.
yes clippers the titans sat at home with a measley 18-7 record.
