Piedmont Triad 3A should be interesting this season as well. There are the top 3 teams again like usual, with Glenn, NE Guilford, and SW Guilford leading the way. Then Morehead, Rockingham, Dudley, and Smith are teams that you will not want to overlook. Carver has a new coach, so I am not sure what they will have, but if you jus tthink they will lay down and quit you might be beaten on any given day.

Parkland is in a rebuilding process. We have some great kids, but really think we are in that cycle phase that every school goes through. I mean we are going to be very young at just about every position, and you want leadership up the middle of the whole field, and we are looking like catcher could be soph, starting pitchers are looking like all sophs, with no varsity experience, 2nd and SS are sophs, and CF will be soph. So as you can tell we will be young, but we had a good summer, and got better at the end of last season, so who knows what to expect. We are about 2-3 yrs away from being a strong contender, and that is what makes this job fun, to see the program have to rebuild to where it was a few years ago. It's definitely a great challenge. If there are any local teams with to much talent I would like to talk to them about a trade with either a player to be named later, or even a 2 liter drink this season. Let me know. Good luck to everyone this upcoming season.

I think Doug Welch is easily one of the best hitting instructors in the area. He communicates the mechanics of hitting very well to the players and is able to help them identify and correct flaws in their swings as they appear. My son, and his Reynolds teammates, are very fortunate to have Coach Welch as their hitting instructor.
