congrats to all who have committed early! one question for hsfan, i had heard that shanna smith had other offers as well; even one from unc-chapel hill. anyone know why she chose nc state over chapel hill? was state's offer that much better? i realize not everyone likes chapel hill, but as of now, it does appear to be the better program (even academics). just wondering for the future. don't get me wrong, state is a super school, did it just have the major she wanted?

understand UNC offer was even better but as other student athletes are weighing other factors than the OFFER .As far as academics ,probably no better than any other school in the state. In the past if UNC wanted a player from NC other coaches sorta backed off,but that seems to be changing .All the NC STATE players will have the opportunity to be part of a new program and with LN as the coach ,she will be competing for the ACC Championship real quick. As of now UNC does have the best softball program but some people just don't fit at that school. But to get the real reason probably just ask her when you see her.

hsfan, thanks for the insight. i don't know the smith's, so i figured you would know the answer as you were very informative of her situation in an earlier post. i agree with you that state will be a force in the future. thanks so much, though.

    Emily Forbes

I am proud of Emily. She took on a new position as a left fielder and handled it with class. She worked hard and actually did not make an error all summer and fall. Her bat was unreal as always but I never expected such great out field play. Thanks Emily for helping the Blues to have a great season. UNCC got a very dedicated player. You will prove that they make the right decision.

    Re: Emily Forbes

LBlues...............your experience with Emily is Just her future with UNCC, imo and has all the qualities that most coaches only hope to get in a player as i listed below

After her 4 years there, i am sure they will include your very words of praise. She reminds me of Tiffany Lindermann (UNCW all time homerun leader/All Conf and such) for starters with all the heart, dedication, talent and willingness to prepare daily for both her academics, athletics and life. Emily can and should be an impact player with a full time softball regiment from now on.......................
the sky is the limit for a lack of better words! My family has enjoyed watching her compete, grow and hope to contiune that for at least 5 more years! Good Luck EMILY and to the other Lady Blues' ready to sign or during the spring signing to play college ball While getting your degree!

:mushy: ................................................this game even more at this level, dont you guys?

    Melissa Stuhr

:D Meliss Stuhr, catcher for the Lady Blues and East Meck high school just committed to Queens. Melissa did a great job for us this year and called all our pitches and handled our young pitcher, Ashton and our veteran, Meredith with ease. She kept those girls focused. Melissa will make an immediate impact at Queens. Bob and Sue, it has all paid off, thanks to both of you for your great support over the past two seasons. You set a great example for Melissa.
