If On Deck played at 10:30 that means they are in the "final four"! Somebody's got to have a cell number for the Porter's or somebody on the team.

Not hearing from On Deck all day long does not sound good. I heard that they possibly lost out at the 10:30 am game this morning which would put them finishing up overall about 4th place which is, I think, a very great accomplishment in Jupiter, FL. though!!! Congratulations O's on representing the state of North Carolina very, very well in the Perfect Games!!!

I just got a call up here with the word that yall's instincts were right. Not sure of the details or the score, but they are done now. Regardless of the details, to the O's, I know you guys wanted it bad and you were right there to take it. But believe everyone when we say congratulations. Your countless hours of work as a team, on your own and the many sacrifices that you have made to play at that level with success should be evidence and give you a sense of satisfaction in that it is beginning to pay off. For many of you, the phone calls and letters will come, but remember that that is not why you work so hard. You work for the feeling that you had after you won to go to the final four. It is a unique and well-deserved feeling. Always remember that feeling and use that as drive to work even harder.
You guys are your own dynasty and congratulations at an awesome run. I wish I could have been there to see it. Congratultions to the entire On Deck program.

Up and In, I am right there with ya. Wish I could have been there but work calls. Nevertheless, a tremendous run by the On-Deck O's. They finish 3rd in the nation overall losing to the eventual champs (East Cobb Astros). Every single one of them played their hearts out and their hard work/determination showed through this past weekend and they earned their 3rd place. They won the first game this morning 2-0 meaning that they had 4 straight shutouts at the Nationals! I would bet very few teams ever could say that! Simply awesome!

From the son of sugerjet and player on the O's I have got to say that it was an awexome tourny. I wish I had one more year to go back and win it all next year. I have to say that the only way we got all the way to the 10:30 game was because of the pitchers on our team. TJ Worrell got us started good by going the whole game and saving us some arms for later in the tourny. The next game Alex Martin didn't throw the way he would have liked but looked who he faced.(the #1 team in the tourny) innings up and Josh Magnum came in and threw 2 good innings to save us more pitching. The next day old Benny did the job by throwing a complete game shutout. Morgan Tyson threw good in his 14-0 win which gave us some time to rest a few players for the battle that we had next. We had a pitchers duel going in the night game. Porter threw great in that game. It took a full count 2 out hit by the little man Jason Haines to bring in AJ Mason from first. In the 8:00 game AJ Mason pitched his butt off in a excellent game against the EC Braves. The leaders of this tourny for us was Tommy Baldridge with his hitting, Elliott Arrington with his play at first, Tim Kramer and Chris Taylor with their play behind the plate and Cavi for his speed and patience. Don't forget all the pitchers as well. All of the coaches down there and all of the coaches that have helped us through out the year I would like to thank you and you have all made every single one of us players a better player and have tought us how to respect the game and play it the way it should be played. A special thanks goes out to Mike Shildt for giving us the chance to do all of this and putting us together for the year. We finally ran out of energy in the EC Astros game and WOW are they good. You can't throw anything by them. One more thing before I get off to go to sleep because I have to go back to school tomorrow, Antonio this was all for you baby. We hope you get better and I hope to see you holding the first place trophy next year when you come back down and win it all. We have 8 juniors on the team joining him down there next year. Get better man. I wish you could have been down there with us.

Thanks to everyone for your encouragement, support, and congratulations. We're really proud of our O's on and off the field and it was great that every member of the team played a significant role in their success. The high standards set by last year's team are tough to live up to, but it gave these guys something to aim for and they worked very hard.

Congratulations, also, to the other North and South Carolina teams for representing our region so well.

Now how about some ink in the Observer?

I just know that I couldn't have gottin were I am now without the help of everyone on that team. They are all great people and everyone at the academy is great. I wish I had played on teams like that in the past. The parents are the ones that let us do what we did. Without their support we couln't have done it. They did everything that was asked and stayed out of the way. How they did that I don't know. It was a great group of people. I know Antonio would have loved to had been down there and in a way he was. He was in our hearts the whole time. Most of us had his number on our hat or something else to remember him by when we were down there. I know he will get through this and will be down there next year. He is a great kid and I wish I could do more to help his family and him. We missed at practice when he would show up with that big smile and joking attitude that would keep us all lose and ready to go. We love you Ant and want you to get back out there. But its not just me that feels this way on our team I am sure there are plenty others that feel the same way about Ant and the way we played down there.
