What exactly is your “heard of” pitchers? I believe these “heard of” pitchers are on these barometer scales because what they have done to help out themselves. Most of these pitchers who you say do well in showcases do good in games. If they don’t then they won’t be recruited by big programs. I think that some people just get too caught up with names and numbers or they complain because they arent being recruited. It’s not because of a big conpiracy against you, it’s probably because a college coach doesn’t like what he sees. It all comes out in the wash, so why should we try to either put down or over-promote players on a message board?

Hopewell has three jrs who will and can be relied on to contribute significantly to the varsity squad - Matt Gardner, Steve Lako and Dusty White.

    Redbird, you're right ...

All three will have an impact this year and Steve Laco may be one of the best centerfielders in the county.

    Re: Jr. Preps.

Not too sure what this post is about except the obvious self promotion of one's kid....but to make an unfounded perception of the "heard of" players sounds like sour grapes to me.

You're right...this is not the purpose of this board.

You will find two of the top juniors in NC @ South Meck in Charlotte, NC

T.J. Worrell, P and 3rd year on varsity
Zac Kenndy, OF, IF and 2nd year on varsity

Both have all-conference and all-state awards. I have seen these guys play for several years and you will definitely be hearing great things about these players in the years to come.

T.J. throws in the high 80s regularly and has now been reported to throwing an occassionly 90 as well. Zac is very, very quick whether playing in the IF or OF and is a leading hitter as well. Both of these players also can and will compete each and every time on the field!

My top five from this area in no particular order: Cavasinni - North Meck, Miclat - JM Robinson, Martin - Ashbrook, Worrell & Kennedy - South Meck. These guys have the desire to get it done. Living proof that hard work and hustle does pay off.

1957 Guy - I haven't been posting much lately but have been reading the posts. By reading the posts I have to assume that you are this young man's parent. A piece of advice. Let your kid do his talking on the field. If I were a college coach, and some do read these posts, I would have to be asking myself, even if this kid is capable of playing in my program, is this a parent I want to deal with? Just my opinion of the way your posts are coming across. I am sure this kid is a fine young man and will do well if he continues to work hard and does the right things to showcase his talent. Good luck.
