Southloop ... Thanks for the update on Independence. It looks like they are going to be very strong this season.

It also looks like the top spot in the conference is going to be a tight battle with Independence clearly one of the favorites.

SPEED, nobody really knows who will play varsity or JV, it's all speculation. Of course there will be try-outs, and that's how it's susposed to be. Here at TBR it's not unusual for members to "predict" who will be on the varsity at their favorite school, as well as who will win the conference or state championship. In a lot of cases it's done in a effort to keep the board active during the off season. Don't try to read anything into it that isn't there.

    BTW, welcome to the board.

I believe Hopewell will be a strong force this year, but the team to beat on the north end will be North Meck. They may be the strongest team in the city.

Three quality pitchers in Tom Porter, Sam Pierce and Zack Rosenbaum return with a solid, experienced OF and IF...whew..those guys may not lose a game!!!

Alexander Central returns a roster with at least 11 seniors with a pitching staff that includes Matt Payne, Brandon Kinnard, Jordan Hefner, Calvin Teague, Scott Hall and others. Add to that mix Brian Corbett who has tranferred from North Iredell.

Solid pitching, defense, speed and bats. Should be an outstanding year for the group from AC.
