    I'm trying to remember back to my days in the gym at the Big I and all of those banners there. For some reason, I'm thinking cross country back in the 70's, but for some other reason, I think I'm wrong.

    It was soccer. State championship 1971. Independence 1 - Myers Park nil.

    I know...nobody really cared then, either. Sort of like "who will the Panthers choke to this week?" A historical curiousity, but nonetheless a dead certainty.
