West Caldwell Football (Its Official Styron has stepped down as football coach)

Styron officially stepped down as head football coach, according to the Lenoir Newstopic today. Now the wait is on as to who will take over as the next West Caldwell Football coach. My Christmas wish is Mike Biggerstaff.

 

My sources say it was one of situations where they told him to step down or they were going to fire him.

I doubt very seriously that Bigg would come back to WC. He has built another contender at EB. Moreover, why would he want to go to a place like WC where the community is unreasonable.

 

You could be on to something WarriorDawg - Bigg was spotted at West Caldwell yesterday after school hours. Saw him with my own eyes!! Santa must have heard your request!!

 

I'am telling you i think coach Bigg is coming home.

HULK why are you so down on the the community, they just want back what they had when coach Biggerstaff was there. And I think he's coming back, because his blood runs WARRIOR blue. So let's wait and see.

First, my prep football loving friend, I have no beef with you. I too only want the program to flourish. My complaint with the community has to do with the way Coach Styron was treated over the last three or so years. I don't think he deserved to be treated the way he was just because he wasn't a good football coach. I agree with you, Bigg will be a huge shot in the arm for WC football. Man, Styron bleeds, hurts, and has feelings just like the rest of us and that community was simply ruthless when it came to him. Moreover, every time I went to a game (and I went to all of them this year) all I heard was these same darilicts week in and week out cussing him out in a profane manner. To top it off it was done right in front of Styron's wife and three small kids. That's bullshit! The people from gamewell who choose to do that are cowards and lack class. If those people don't like him then go up to him and cuss him out in his face, not in the stands in front of the mans kids while all of their buddies are around.

Do you know what I mean, MEAN GENE!

 

This happens to all coaches that cant coach and maybe its a shame but it happens... If I am not mistaken Mr. Hulkie you too were hard on him earlier... I agree with Warriordawg... Nothing is wrong with Gamewell that any other town would be the same...
Biggerstaff is coming home to WC and the football program will be a winner again!

And by the way hulkie, if you don't like Gamewell, Move back to Florida!

At this point I don't care if it's Bigg that they bring back, although it would be nice. I think it's just important that they get him out of there. His name is synonomous with vermin in the community. JYD, you've said he's a nice guy and a great person, but I even question that now. Some of the things I've heard are truly alarming and not traits you would find in a good person. He needs to go, regardless of what kind of person he is because of the unsettling resentment that the people in the community have for him. The community needs to have a good relationship with their coach and this relationship is counter productive. It cannot be mended. Who's fault it is is irrellevant. He should be the bigger man and walk away. But he can't. He likes being in charge more than he likes those kids. He'd rather run the program down than give up the power. Sad, very sad. """""""
