If what you say is true then the WC screwed up royally. They forcably make the old coach resign thinking they were going to land BIGG. Sounds as if what I heard was correct; WC wouldn't pay him or Bigg saw Burton for what he was worth. Perhaps it was both. In all seriousness, Chris Burton should step down as principal or be fired. Within all of this mess he's created I'm certain he has violated some code of ethics and wrongfully terminated a guy. Moreover, he has let down an entire communtiy by not landing a guy who in my estimation really wanted to come back. The kids in that program and the community just got screwed ala Chris Burton. Someone should lodge a complaint to the superintendant.

I hear you WD. I'm just concerned because nothing has been said yet and I've heard a lot of things. This whole Burton thing concerns me. I can see him and BIGG butting heads should BIGG take the job. This Burton guy is very flaky and controlling from what I hear.

OK I said I was not going to mention names of some of my sources but I will to shut up EB77, I have spoken with Coach Biggs son and it was he who said his Dad was coming back to WC! And I was told it was a done deal.

All I know is Joe Don Biggerstaff has no reason to lie. EB77, stop crying! I wish they would go ahead and announce this crap so EBWISHBIGWILLSTAY77 will shut-up. Mike Biggerstaff's blood is still warrior blue and he's done all he can do at East Burke for athletically they cannot compete with Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro area 4-A powers. Joe Don says money is not even a issue but that the major issue is facility improvements! West Caldwell has Athletes and a little speed and they're 2-A. A state championship is and can be perceivable at West Caldwell. He came close at WC in 1987, 1985 and 1984 on the 3-A level at West Caldwell. Although they are some major work to be done here to right the program, the potential is there.

when will West Caldwell announce its new coach

    Dear JunkyardDawg2

the school board meets tonight ,,,so if there is anything on the table
that needs to be addressed concerning hiring Bigg it should be addressed then
I know coach Bigg personally and he would be a big plus for West
Caldwell football and Caldwell County..., but personally I thought Coach
Styron did an excellent job and I just wonder if the people on this
message board that are so quick to bash coaches, really have any idea of
the hours of hard work it takes to be a varisty coach on the high school
level..if not bear with me a moment..and think about this the next time
you bash your coach in the stands and on this board...The average
coaching supplement for a high school head football coach is around 4,000
dollars.....a year...and trust me this is a year round job..... now you do the
    math with me..............

Lets start the year with the first day of school...you'll head coach goes
to work around 7:30,,,he gets home Mon - Wed. around 8:30 (13 hours
a day) on thurs (jv night) and Friday ( varsity night) around 11:00 if
he is lucky (15 and 1/2 hours) that is 70 hours plus at least 10 hours
a week of film work and 5 hour coaches meetings on sunday.., thats
85 hours a week for at least 11 weeks... ( 935 hours) that not counting
any playoffs .. most football coaches seasons began today,,the first day
of the new semester...where they will now go in early to open to weight
room before school for players whobecause of after school jobs needsto lift
in the morning, and they will stay till 5 for the players who want to lift after
school...so lets say 6:30 till 5:30 a day (11 hours) for 21 weeks till school is
    out. thats 11 hours a day,,,5 days a week for 21 weeks (1155) hours.
then you have summer workouts where between morning and evening workouts..( 7 on 7 leagues ) ext...you are looking at at least 5 hours a day.
    for 10 weeks...another 250 hours..... that is (935 + 1155 + 250) a grand
total of 2340 hours...if you are keeping up..its 1.70 cent an hour........
not exactly in it for the money...??? then you get to be bashed in the
stands,,,in front of ( in most cases) your wife, your parents and your
children...because a 16 year old kid, missed a block that caused a fumble,
or your 15 year old defensive back lost the receiver and he caught the
winning touchdown...then you get jumped by a parent who can't believe
that you didn't realize that their son was the next Walter Payton..........
and you have him playing defense instead of running the ball...all the while
he is missing his childrens ( pto programs, chorus concerts, rec league games) and getting home about the time his kids are going to bed...........
sometimes its not all about winning and losing..........good luck to
coach bigg or whoever west caldwell hires...and best of luck to coach styron
he deserved better that what he got...........just my opinion.......
