congratualations to all of these coaches but one is incorrect. I know by keeping up with newspapers that coach lambros's last year's record was left off. His total record at this time is 488-77. He has coached there 23 years. way to go coach. As well as all your fellow coaches and there records.

And one thing people may be forgetting, is that Sherrill sat out all last year mainly because of the Administration at ACHS. If he would have still be allowed to coach, then he would have close around 415 wins. Boy what a mess the Adminsitration has made in the last 2 years of that once "prestigious" program. ACHS administration does a wonderful job of getting rid of "caring quality" coaches!

I think in the next few years at CCHS, with the talent-base they have in that area, will quickly add to that outstanding W-L Record. Shoot.....he is still Young too! oh Mike is tooooooo.......... :roflmao: and what about those great Assistant Coaches who have committed their time and are getting old? Butler, North Davidson, Ashbrook and others have outstanding assistants and who are some of the others in our area with that edge in coaching?

Through research posted on NCHSAA website, the four 4 coaches are basically the one regulars in the State Finals too.
Lambros has been to the finals 4 times, but no State Championships,
Dees has one State Title and has been there 3 other times,
McElrth has won 2 States and been there once more,
Sherill has won 4 State Titles and been there 3 other times.
No one else on the list posted has made regular trips to the finals. What would you attribute this too with so many wins? Easy non-conference games?

What is the breakdown as far as slow pitch vs. fast pitch?Since slow pitch is no longer played, how do the fast pitch records match up?

Another thing that gets over looked is the schedule some of this teams play. Look at Sherrills last couple years at AC. I mean every tema he played non-confernce was a state championship contender, if not defending state champ.

I attribute passion to all the wins that each coach on that list has gotten. Early in their careers they may have stayed around the house and played some lesser teams. But as they got older they decided to get quality wins as well as losses to make their teams better. Also when the State changed from slow to fastpitch they decided to take their passion and stay for kids and the game and to continue on. Where several coaches got out. So many people said that when the State changed games that programs would drop off but they got stronger. This is a tribute to these fine coaches. I know that there are several of them who play State Champions every year from not only North Carolina but the surrounding states as well. North Davidson Played 4 last year themselves. The one great thing is the friendships that have developed between all of these coaches. North Carolina is blessed. Easier opponents not so. It's a committment for excellance and to our great student athletes both on the field and in the classroom.

    Remember: Quality not Quanity
