I believe at this time Crystal Cox. Why? Because records and stats give her the edge. She was consistent from her freshman year to graduation. Also she has proven it her first year at Carolina. Good job Crystal.

I agree Crystal was and probably will be the best for some time to come, but there are several others that should be mentioned:

4A: Shaina Ervin, Kristen Bowen and Gina Allen
    3A: Devon Williams
2A: Hannah Angel and Keri Blackwelder
    1A: Brittney Lehrschall

    Best pitcher

4A U have to mention Meredith O'Connor as she has had an unbelieveable career at Myers Park on a team that could not score runs. Cami Small was not a bad pitcher, lead Providence to the playoffs every year. Cari Wilkerson has pitched well for NW and beat Central and Crystal COx. How can U beat Devon's HS record? Keri will be a star at Belmont Abbey. I think Crystal was the best that I have seen in this area. There are a couple of young guns that given the right tutoring could be awesome over the next several years.

Isn't wonderful to see how lucky NC softball has been to have these gifted pitchers? What's really great is that they are still lining up all across the state as we talk on line. Every size shape and age.

agreed.........i dont know who worked harder with the 8 younguns that worked out over here tonite, them or ME? Its so exciting to see 11 and 12 yr old pitchers learning their pitches just like the 15-17 yr old hs gals!

with your obivious excitement.........do you pitch, parent of one that does, instruct or just a knowledgable Fan of the game?

have a great 2004 season! :jump:

    Ain't it Great

    CF you are so right
I have a couple of 8 year old girls that have an incredable work ethic. And the progress being made by my 10 and 12 year olds is amazing. I have to do double time just to stay ahead of them. Most of my 14 year old girls could pitch at the JV level now. Just six or seven years ago the HS pitching for the most part was not as good as what we see in 12u now on a regular basis. They have controll and comand of two or three pitches at least. My hats go off to the girls there parents and coaches for the time and effort each put in.
    Ya gotta love it

    In this order I'll take

    1. Laura Ennis for New Hanover, she's Crystal Cox with a mean streak
    2. Crystal Cox, Last Year's ACC Freshman of the year enough said
    3. Hannah Angel 0.00 ERA going into the State Finals last season.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER TROOPS :medal:

I have personally seen all the above young ladies in action or our team has faced them.....They are all great pitchers! There are however, some fine young pitchers here in the east. Laney HS, Wilmington, NC, is so stacked at the pitching position (4) deep, that someone will not see much mound time. All the girls take from the same instructor and all have the full compliment of pitches to go with speed (57-60+). These young ladies are all young, 3 sophmores and 1 freshmen.......I also know that there are some outstanding pitchers in the Pitt County area...I wish that some more folks from the East would add there comments.....Oh yeah, it was Erica Ennis from New Hanover, not Laura!
