Mudcat--- That could be very easily a thread all unto itself. I suspended 2 seniors for violating team rules, it cost 1 2 games and the other 3. One of the players is a 2 time All-Conference player. Unfortunately, we have lost our first 2 games without them. How much difference would it have made, I don't know, all I do know is that a clear message was sent that we will continue to enforce the rules, no matter who you are.

No team rules broken here, just lackadaisical attitude and effort. It can affect a whole team if allowed to continue. I just hate it when seniors with so much potential take this attitude. Especially when they could really become good leaders for the underclassmen, just like the seniors they once looked up to. Good luck Coach Evans. As a wise coach once told me, "the bench is the best motivator". After all, a good program is greater than any one player.

You could have made your point in two words. Beware of senoritits and carpal tunnel syndrome.

I agree with you, Braves. By my count 17 different guys have had at least 1 start in the three games.

What could really hurt, though, is having this whole week with no games. Next week there are two key conference games (Waddell and East). Then, starting Friday the 19th, the Mustangs have 5 games in 8 days -- talk about tough on a pitching staff! It would have been nice to have more non-conference games this week. Maybe they are doing some intrasquad scrimmaging -- with 21 players they can in essence play two games at a time that way.

One bit of Mustang news of interest -- after having his transfer to South rejected, Cody Drake (junior, LHP, OF) has rejoined the Myers Park team.

Add to that another win over St. Stephens last Tuesday and you've got yourself a 4-0 team. Just wait until they start actually hitting the ball like they can...
