    Here's another good one-

Baseball can get me further in life than any female can. The reason my relationships don't last much more than 5 minutes is when they realize they'll take a backseat to baseball.

My idea of the perfect woman is one that can throw me B.P, hit ground balls, and catch my fastball. She would be blond with an IQ above 180.
Even then she'll have to be left-handed.
(I just don't get those righties?!)

    I don't understand it, I still haven't found her!

Even when I find her, she'll still be second to baseball. If she wants to be up there with baseball, she'll have to fight for a spot in the lineup.

More seriously, Girls won't get you a pro contract, college scholarship (unless they're in the admissions office), or anywhere in baseball. Only dedication and hard work can get you there.

It depends...if you have a girlfriend that understands this...you gotcha a keeper. Which is better than a blonde headed, left handed, BP pitcher:

"If something I said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways
makes you sad or angry, I meant the other one."

This is, and has forever been, an interesting topic regarding all sports....not just baseball. And not just for guys, but for gals as well.

There are 2 views of this that come to mind.
    1) Most of the concern is generated by parents not by the kids. Some fear that romantic involvements will cause "little Johnny or Jenny" to not concentrate on their sport enough. Therefor causing them to miss a chance at a college scolarship. There are at least a thousand other distractions in the world and this is not the worst of them by a long shot.
    2) The guys and gals that have the talent and are truly dedicated to their sport will not allow romantic intanglements or any other distractions to interfer with their goals.

I find it interesting how in many cases we, as parents, seem to forget what it was like to be a 15-18 year old HS student. We spend years trying to teach them our values and in the end we often don't trust their ability to make the right decisions for themselves. I know that in some cases our fears are well founded, but where athletics are concerned the student/athlete has to (and will) make the decision.
Like the old saying goes, " You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink".

WOW!!!!!!!!! This is a good one.

Well mine was a keeper right after I came in contact with her. See, I just happened to pull my hamstring and she just happend to be the student trainer who took care of me until I was better. But she has been there with me in the ups and downs over the past 2 years. She knows that when I am in baseball season, which is every month but 3 months out of the year, not to bother me with stupid stuff. If she wants to have a serious talk she knows when to talk to me (and its not the night before the game or the day of the game.) When we go out though I can't talk about the game really except if she has said something about it. She says thats her time. But she only gets about 30-45 min. on the phone with me each night and I tell her I have to go to sleep for the next day so my body can regroup. When it comes time to do something with baseball it is always first and she knows that. She gets mad about it but knows how much baseball is to me.

    List
    God
    Family
    School
    Baseball
Friends (her most of the time)

Most of it has to do with the mind set of the person and the understanding of it. It takes 2 to make it work but one to make it fall apart. That is why its important to pick a good one that will understand. This is what I think of the situation.

By the way, mine can throw, catch, learning to hit a little and she's a blonde.

My old high school Coach said it best:
"Girls will be there for you after the final out is made in your last inning"

When a girl distracts a guy in High School baseball, that is just sad.

I am not saying you can't have a girlfriend when you play, I have one now on the college level and there is no distraction at all... It just all depends on how you spend your time.
