    Mt. Pleasant defeated N. Rowan at North yesterday 9-0. Kelly Furr and Elizabeth Lyerly combined for a no-hitter, Furr pitched 5 innings for the win striking out 7. Catcher, Hannah Clark (3 hits, 3 RBI, triple) Second Base, Brittany Cantrell (3 run homerun-over 228 ft fence) SS, Elizabeth Fudge (2 hits) CF, Christy Huthchison (2 hits) led the MP offense.

    WP Kate Pouliot

    Sara Christopher scored Hillcrest's only run in the 5th inning on Kate Poulit's infield single.

    With two out Christopher drew a walk and stole second. Poulit hit a chopper over the mound toward second baseman Amanda Barrs. Poulit beat Barrs throw to first. Christopher scored on a bang bang play at home plate. She was called safe.

    Central Cabarrus's only hit came in the sixth inning, off the bat of Haley Scism.

    Hillcrest is ranked 3rd in USA todays rankings. Central Cabarrus is ranked 23rd.

    Great game, great crowd, great media coverage.

    Cometfan it was great finally getting to meet you. It was by far one of the best games I have seen in a long time...It was even better than a lot of college games I have observed this year. First time for me to have watched Coach Sherrill in action. I have to say that his team feeds off his energy. Big Time Coach. CFBall was there as well. Enka is playing on April 19th so I probably wont get to see the rematch.....maybe...lol...Good Luck to Coach Sherrill and CC on their rematch.
