This should be a great season for ACHS. With a very deep pitching staff and good hitters from top to bottom, Alexander is poised to go deep into the state playoffs. There is so much talent on this squad that you could pull up a few JVs and you would have two very competitive 4A teams. As long as attitudes stay good you can very much expect to see this team in June.

    AC v. McDowell

Alexander Central plays McDowell today. Should be a great one if Taylor is on and the weather doesn't ruin the day. It will be tough to pick up the ball if they play if the fog still stays around from this morning. Most likely that Payne will get the mound today seeing that Taylor has been a tough oppenent for Cougar bats the last few years. Good luck to both teams.

    ACHS - 8
    Davie - 3

Kelly McLain started on the mound for the Cougars with Calvin Teague coming in relief. AC didn't get the bats rolling until the 6th, when they scored 3 runs. 4 more runs were added in the 7th. Scott Hall, Calvin Teague, Brandon Kinniard, and Jordan Hefner hit the ball well. The Cougars are now 6-0 and take on AC Reynolds at home on Friday.

Glad to hear Matt Payne is throwing the ball well. I heard he threw a no hitter against McDowell. Sounds like North Carolina State is getting one hell of a pitcher added to their roster. Hope he continues to mow down the competition. Good luck to AC and the rest of the NW4A.

    AC v. AC Reynolds

Alexander Central Cougars faces AC Reynolds Rockets at Alexander Central Friday, March 19. Not heard a whole lot on the Rockets thus far this season. Doubt they will be a powerhouse in the NW4A. This game could be be a blow out if AC gets the bats rolling early. Might be a chance for the juniors to get some PT and some varsity experience.

    AC Cougars

Alexander Central Cougars play East Burke this week. I believe they also plays teams such as Hickory and North Forsyth Wednesday and Thursday. Not alot of insight on East Burke thus far. Good luck to all teams in the NW4A.

Alexander Central continues to win as they took one from North Forsyth last night 11-1 five innings.Scott Hall picked up the win for the Cougars. Kinnard and Payne both homered in the game. That's three wins in as many days for the Cougars. Tues. AC 8... East Burke 4 & Wed. AC 7.... Hickory 0. :xyzthumbs

    Alexander Central Cougars

The Alexander Central Cougar Baseball Team really seems like they are getting on a roll. From the scoreboard of their last few games, it shows that their bats are lighting up and putting some runs on the board as well as some balls out of the yard. I can't wait to see them play Watuaga and South Caldwell and see how they fare against them in conference play.

From what friends back in T-Ville tell me, AC is hitting the ball well. I thought that North Forsyth would have been a better opponent, but they must have not been much because the Hall kid shut them down. My buddy has watched them this year and verified that the kid still can't break 80 and his curve is easily recognixable. With the staff that they have, I cant figure out why Payne didn't throw this week? Is he hurt??Has Comer thrown him too much too early? He has thrown a lot of innings according to reports. Playme, help me out old buddy on these questions..You are the man with the plan when it comes to AC baseball!!
