    whoever pitched for concord needs to pitch for a coach pitch team as slow as he threw but it beat us, well not really we beat our selves makin 4 errors and they only had 2 hits...worst game ever

    A pitchers job is to either strike you out or give the other 8 players a chance to get you out.
    I guess your team needs to learn to hit off-speed pitching.

    Good Luck tomorrow Concord against K-Town.

    Mt. Pleasant 3 Northwest 2 9 innings..
    not a great game to watch but it was a fun game to watch..
    to balk in the winning run was a ballsy call by the ump.. but the lefty for NWC didnt appear to come set with bases loaded...
    To bad , this happens and these kind of losses are what makes teams win when play-off time comes ...

    Pisgah-3 over West Stanly-1
    JM Robinson-3 over Piedmont-1

    North Stanly, Northwest Cabarrus, West Stanly & Piedmont all drop to the consolation rounds with their 1st round losses.

    Friday April 15 Second Round Winner's Bracket schedule includes:
    10am: Concord vs. Kannapolis
    1pm: JM Robinson vs. Hendersonville
    4pm: Pisgah vs. Central Cabarrus
    7pm: Mt.Pleasant vs. Statesville

    LP: Tyson

    Great pitchers duel. Both of the left handers threw well, and I beleive there were maybe 7 or 8 hits in the whole game. Both pitchers threw complete games. Benson struck out 11 and walked 5. Robinson will play vs Hendersonville at 1pm at Feildcrest.

    Give Concord and Newsome some credit!

    I don't know how anybody can complain about slow the pitcher threw after only scoring one run on him. Tripper Newsome is the same pitcher that beat Mt. Pleasant last year in the same tournament and they probably thought the same thing.

    BTW, does anybody know who won the Brown-Concord game this morning?

    Tim King gets the win pitching 6 1/3 innings. Tim was very wild today but kept it to one run until the 7th.

    Danny Hermann gets the save. Danny also had a HR to break out of a 6 game slump.

    Piedmont is 7-7-1

    tj21, the wonders did start hitting in the tournament they had 11 the last time I checked the score board. Sherrill had a shut out after 6 then kannapolis brought in pittman to finish it off.

    kannapbaseball, congrats on the Wonders win over Concord. The game was never close.

    And yes your right, you guys had 11 hits. I agree with you about the Kannapolis pitching being your strongpoint, and if you keep hitting like you did today,,, you will be just fine the rest of the season. It should be a good game tomorrow with you guys facing a very good Robinson team... Good luck to both teams.

    Carlson threw 6 strong innings only giving up 1 run. After McAteer walked the bases loaded to start the 7th, Miclat came in and finished the game after allowing 3 runs to score.

    Should be a good game nice and early tommorow morning at 10am with Robinson and A.L. Brown
