Western Highlands 2A

How is the conference race shaping up? I know Pisgah is the class of the league, but it sounds like their are alot of teams in the running for 2nd.....

Henderson and Haywood counties which include West Henderson and Pisgah are on spring break. Owen has yet to play pisgah but did lose to WEst. Next week should clear a few things up. I believe Pisgah has a (2) two game lead over West and a (1) game lead over Owen...Pisgah10? help us out here.

 

EnkaJet04 has it pretty much nailed. I have not seen much on Owen as far as game results. I am pretty sure the only conf. game they have lost is to West Henderson. We play them next week. We have been out for Spring break this week so there really has not been much news. The top three in the Western Highlands are as follows:

Pisgah – 0 losses
Owen – 1 loss (West Henderson)
West Henderson – 2 (Pisgah and Mountain Heritage)

How is the Mountain Valley shaping up Goal3x? I know Forbush is on top but how about # 2 and #3.

 

The falcons took one on the chin last night against Ashe Co. 1-0. So Forbush and Ashe are tied with one loss apiece. North Wilkes is in 3rd with 2 losses(one to Forbush and one to Ashe). If both teams don't lose again it will come down to the conference tournament. Pisgah 10 we might see you in the 1st round rather than the 3rd.

 

When does Owen and Pisgah play?

 

Goal3x I hate to see Forbush lost but 1-0 sounds like it was a tough game. Was the run earn or not?

To be honest with you I would rather see you guys in Raleigh than in the 1st or 3rd round. I am sure Ashe has a great team but I am also sure Forbush will rebound and be a better team because of it. We still have several tough games left so 1st place is not in the bag for you by any means. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

I think they rescheduled the Owen game for April 21. I will double check and let you know.

 

Enka is susposed to play Owen on wednesday april 21. I wonder if that game has been cancelled? I know conference games take priority over non-conference games.

 

The run was unearned. 1 out in the 4th, #2 batter bunts, and reaches on a fielding error by the 1st baseman. Next batter K's so their is 2 outs, runner on 1st. 2 pitches later runner on 1st steals the throw from the catcher is perfect, she is out by 4 steps but the SS just drops the ball on the tag. (2 errors on the same girl). The outfield is pulled in so if they get a hit their is no way they can score. Next pitch liner up the middle, CF catches it on the 1st hop, runner is not even to third yet. She was 5 feet off the dirt and she let fly with a perfect strike to the back stop. (3rd error, same girl) Hannah's 1st loss at the high school level, and she had 17ks while facing 21 batters!!!

 

Sounds like a great game. That's a tough way to lose one. 17k's and 21 batters you can't get much better than that. Was the game at Ashe?
