How is North Wilkes doing this year. I know they lost the opener to Alexander Central, but haven't they beat the #1 seed from the Western Highlands, and have been beaten by your team the last two years in the playoffs. In your opinion do they have a chance to make another run deep into the playoff?

NW is in third place in the conference standings. They have lost one to Forbush and one to Ashe Co.

In my opinion they can make a deep run in this years playoffs once again. The last two years they have had huge upsets against Pisgah and Owen, and have went as far as the elite eight before losing to Forbush each year. This years team has some good sticks, touching Angel for 4 hits(the most of the year). And they always play solid defense. The difference this year is they are in a different bracket then the other Mtn. valley teams. So they will be playing the teams from the Central Carolina and Rocky River conference. Word to the wise, "don't take NW for granted or you will lose".

 

Conference tournament is the week of May 10th and will be at North Wilkes. If Ashe and Forbush don't lose again in the conference, the #1 seed will be determined by who makes it farther in the tournament.

 

EnkaJet04 and goal3x I double checked PHS schedule and confirmed the Owen game has been rescheduled for Wednesday 21 at Owen. I am not sure what will happen with the Enka - Owen game. :huh:

 

Pisgah10, I found out that Enka/Owen game is to follow the Pisgah game as soon that yours is finished. Sounds like about as close as Enka/Pisgah will get being on the same ballfield..

 

EnkaJet04, It sure would be nice to make it into a 3 team round robin and start at little earlier. It will be nice to get to see Enka play some even if we don't get to be on the field.

 

I hope I can make this game. I have a meeting in Fayetteville that I am not sure if I can get out of. Plus DD may get to hit that game. Is this Pisgah's first game this week?

 

It will be the first game back after spring break. I hope we are not to rusty after have almost 2 weeks off. Hope you are able to make it back from Fayetteville.
