West Forsyth Hosts N. Davidson

    West Forsyth won their 7th consective Forsyth County championship Monday night by defeating Glenn High School 2-1. Tonight at 7 pm, West Forsyth will host conference rival N. davidson in the first game ever played under the lights at West. This game will be for first place in the conference, plus there will be intense interest in the pitching match up between Mindy McKenzie from West and Danile Gloson form N. davidson. Gloson apparently just transferred from West to N. davidson in January. Gloson is a freshman and McKenzie is a junior. West does not have a senior starter on the team and also starts a freshman catcher Britney McKinney who I was told is leading West in batting average and RBI's. Good Luck to both teams.

    outstanding WF on the big win over Glenn and Good luck with N Davidson.

    I hope to see WF play Alexander Central on April 30th in Taylorsville as thats a Must See game. Hey Spart30.....this game tonite and the forementioned date should be two great matchups with some outstanding 4A playoff caliber teams!!

    Yes, tonight's game is big game for several reasons.

    It should be a great battle between West Forsyth's finest pitchers ever. McKenzie (Junior-WF) and Glossen (Fresh-ND) and Pruitt (Senior-ND). Glossen attened West Forsyth until January then transferred to North Davidson but still lives 2 miles behind West. Pruitt transferred to North in January of last year. Also, tonight Coach Labross goes for win 500. It will also be the first ever night game at West Forsyth.

    Should a game for the ages in the CPC with the winner getting the upperhand on the conference championship that North has lost but shared last year with West Forsyth. Be there and be there early because it will be a great crowd and high school atomosphere.

    West 2, N. Davidson 0

    West just has too much firepower in the box. The best hitting team I've seen this year besides CC and Mckenzie is probably 3 or 4 in the state behind Angel and Isley. Should be a great game!!! Question is can West get that big win against North when they really need it? I think they can.

    North Davidson's Mike Lambros will out-coach West. West had better players last year too. Baity is soft and an average coach at best. McKenzie is good , but not great. Good thing Kevin has close ties with the McKenzie family or the Fresh from North may still be at WF.

    Great game in Clemmons tonite. No score until the top of the 4th when N. Davidson was able to push in the only run in the game. It really got exciting in the bottom of the 7th and two out when Glosson struck out the final batter.
    However the catcher couldn't hold on to the ball and the batter reached base on a passed ball. Glosson walked the next batter. The next batter hit to the outfield. Runner on 2nd made a run toward home, but was thrown out about 10 feet short of home plate. Game over. Enjoyed this one! A pitching game for sure.

    65mph it shows that you don't know coach baity. he is a great coach and person. maybe you should get to know someone before you trash them on this board.

    I agree catamount36, Coach Baity is a great coach and even better person. Not to mention he has the best fastpitch coach in the state on his staff.

    Catamount, You are right, there is no way 65 knows anything about Coach Baity. I have known him since childhood and he is and has always been a person of high integrity. He is also a very good coach and has always been a student of the game and knows how to handle his athletes. Just because he and Coach Lambros have different personalities does'nt mean he is any less of a coach. I will be pulling for West, but I have the utmost respect for Coach Lambros and his program. We don't need to let a good, healthy rivalry like this one get us to the point where we are coming on here to belittle people we don't really know. Also congrats to Coach Lambros on his 500th win. I'll put my $ on Coach Baity getting there to one day.
