    Charlotte Christian 10
    vs.
    Providence Day 1

    WP: Chris Whitley

Christian brought out the bats tonight and played good defense to sweep the conference. Stuart Bost hit 2 HR's tonight. Jared Bard also hit a HR that cleared the evergreens out in right field. They came out tonight against a suprisingly good Prov. Day squad and got the job done.

    Christian: 22-9-1; 9-0 (conf.)

    Ragsdale 7
    Asheboro 3

    WP - Chad Baker
    LP - Ryan Cockerham

Great game and a solid win against 2nd place Asheboro. Barring a monumental upset to Trinity next week Ragsdale wraps up 1st place in the Tri County coference.

Baker pitched a good game for Ragsdale in front of some Catawba College scouts. Struck out 5 ( I think ) and gave up 5 maybe 6 hits. I spent the whole 7th inning talking football with Coach Norwood so I didn't pay attention very well. I know Baker gave up a couple of hits and a run in the 7th before giving the ball up to Trevor Mullins to close out the game.

Ragsdale had 9 hits from 8 different players. Trevor Mullins went 2-2 with a big triple and 2 runs scored. SS Brian Hodgins had a double and two RBIs.

Ragsdale got a run on three hits in the first. Asheboro tied it up in the third manufacturing a run on a walk, two stolen bases and a wild throw to third. Ragsdale came back witth 5 big runs in the fifth.

Andrew Davis had a solo homer in the sixth for asheboro. Asheboro had one more run off Baker in the 7th for the final run.

Big game next Tuesday at Eastern Randolph. Ragsdale picked them off 2-1 in a hard fought 9 innings game last month in Jamestown. Probably the only close game Ragsdale had in their 16 game winning streak. Everybody looking good for the Tigers right now. they are now 11-1 in the conference 18-2 overall. :xyzthumbs
