    Wolfpac,

Can't determine 3rd seed without determining 1st seed, whereas Piedmont was swept by Robinson and SV split with Robinson and vice versa with Weddington. I know... why don't we go to runs scored (head to head) between SV and Piedmont? Go Spartans!

Wolfpac, I think you were right in your last statement. You don't know who is 1st or 3rd so you can't use the tie breakers. Even if you took the combined records of Weddington and Robinson against both 3rd place teams then they were both 3-1.

I agree with you Wolfpac, go Concord.

I will be at Sun Valley today to watch those last 2 innings of the SV/concord game. GO SPIDERS!

What is the exact situation of where the game will be picked up. I know it is 2-1 SV and Concord is at the plate.

It is Sun Valley leading Concord 2-0 in the top of the 6th. Concord has two men on 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Troutman is the batter with a count of 0-1. Ward is at 3rd and Wyke is at 1st. Blalock is pitching for SV and Newsome is the pitcher of record for Concord.

    GO SPARTANS!

Apparently the Concord coach had submitted a roster to both the SV coach and the umpires listing Troutman as #16. However, Troutman was wearing #15. When Troutman singled with men on 1st and 3rd, the SV coach protested he was an illegal batter. After much deliberation, there was no question that the Concord coach had wrote down the wrong number, the umpires called Troutman out and sent the runner back to 3rd and no run had scored. Don't know why the protest was overturned except that we heard that because the players name was correct on the lineup, it didn't matter that his number was wrong. I have to think, umpires have to go by numbers and not by name, they wouldn't or shouldn't know everyone by name.

    #'s

Numbers mean nothing...only a reference for the scorekeeper, the other team, and the umpire. You can wear a different # every inning if you want to. The only thing that matters is that the correct person is at the plate in the correct order.

I agree with that statement "the only thing that matters is that the correct person is at the plate in the correct order" except that the only way an opposing coach or umpire for that matter knows who is suppose to be at the plate, is from the lineup card. Why wear numbers, just bring your photo ID to the plate each time.

    Ridiculous

Thank goodness this was overturned. What a ridiculous protest. Let the kids play the game.

    So DodgerBlues,

What your saying is if you were the opposing coach, you wouldn't have protested?
