meca 8 all conference

who will be the players chosen for all conference?

 

All Conf in Mecca 8 if holds true as in the past lacks a lot to be desired.Too many coaches from Meca determine the outcome before they meet. The best players are not always selected. Does anyone know when they select ?The All Observer,All Piedmont , All State reflect a more true meaning. Just my observation of all conf. selection over the years.

 

As in past, Meck coaches don't vote for Central players. I am curious to see who gets ALL Conference considering Central has dominated the conference. We need about 8 players! :applause:

 

CC will be fortunate to get 3 at the very most 4 people ,As stated before dominating doesn't count at this meeting.CC has at least 6 that should be all conf. and at least 2 that should be considered for POY. We will see what happens .

 

It is the obligatory one or two players from the bottom 4 teams that regularly get beat by 10 runs a game that end up making the all-conference team annually that cause this problem. While I applaud the fact that they come out for their school and play hard every week, many of the past selections don't even play summer ball and would not play on the varsity of the top teams. This practice takes away an important honor from a more deserving player. If I'm coaching one of the noncompetitive meca8 teams, I don't want to take recognition from a more deserving player that is building a resume for college recruiting.

Rutledge - NM
Allen - CC
D. Covington - CC
Beatty - CC
Knight - HW
Woodall - HW
Independance Pitcher
Independance Leadoff Batter

I'm sure there are several others from CC that I've left off. Obviously, they have several outstanding players. I vote Covington as POY, best overall player I've seen this year.
