Louisburg has a good chance to win so does Surry. It will be a good showdown of the two best teams from Region X. JM15, I hope your prediction turns out to be true. I wish i could get down there to see it, but I have other obligations to take care of. Keep us informed Braves!!!

I predict Surry to win without losing. That's my prediction. Surry beat argueably the best pitcher in Region X last night in Allan Letchworth, but I would bet Louisburg will throw either Bowes or Ostrander, both outstanding lefties. Ostrander was 1st team Region X pitcher with Letchworth. Surry's #1 and #2 pitchers made 2nd team (Harris and Hodges). Surry's John Graham won player of the year as a first baseman hitting over .400 with a ton of homeruns. Last check I saw he had 17. Didn't he play at Spartanburg Methodist last year and just pitch? I don't understand how a hitter can be player of the year one year for one team and the year before not even get to hit? That should show you high school kids that coaches aren't always correct, and keep working hard for what you want. He may pitch tonight for the Knights. I'm sure it will be an outstanding game. Both teams met in this same game last year with Surry winning. I wish I could be there too. Does anyone know who is pitching for each team? And any scores from earlier today? I know Wilkes played Spartanburg and Blue Ridge played Pitt, but does anyone have any results? I assume Surry and Louisburg are playing right now.

    don't forget.

Division 2 Region X Tournament... Game 2 at LCC tomorrow in a Best of 3. LCC up 1-0.

Graham was a very good hitter, throw him a fastball and you're done for..........

We would be playing tonight if didn't drop down to D2.

For all those interested and curious the final score to Louisburg and Surry:

    Surry 10
    Louisburg 0
    5 inning mercy rule

    WP John Graham
    LP Jason Bowes

Blue Ridge and Spartanburg Methodist played in the nightcap. SMC beat Wilkes earlier in the day and Blue Ridge beat Pitt. Surry advances to Saturday's championship game at 7 PM. Louisburg waits to play the winner of SMC-Blue Ridge tomorrow afternoon. The loser of both those games goes home for the year. If Surry were to lose Sat. night, then the same two teams will face off again on Sunday for rights to host the District Finals. If Surry wins Sat. night they win the Region X tournament and will host two other teams (Usually a team from the MD/WV area and a team from the NY area.) for the district championship and a trip to Grand Junction. Another interesting note, last year's tournament, if I remember correctly was exactly the same at this point as this year's. Spartanburg Methodist beat BR, Louisburg and Surry twice to win the tournament championship, so anything can still happen at this point.
