The seeding are in for the MECA-8 Tournament which starts Monday 5/10 at Independence and North Meck.

    At Independence

6:00 #4 Central Cabarrus vs #5 West Meck

    7:30 #1 Independence vs #8 West Charlotte

    At North Meck

    6:00 #2 North Meck vs #7 Harding

    7:30 #3 Hopewell vs #6 Vance

Semi-Finals games will be played Tuesday 5/11 at Harding.

Final game will be played Thursday 5/13, 6:00 at Providence.

Added point of interest, if neither Independence or North Meck make it to the Finals a play-off game will need to be played to determine the #1 seed in the MECA-8 for the State Play-offs.

Also, if neither Hopewell or Central Cabarrus make it to the Finals a play-off game may be needed to determine the #3 seed in the MECA-8 for the State PLay-offs.

The MECA-8 Tournament Winner gets the #2 seed, less they finish #1.

    Confused yet?

    No typo

That was NO TYPO...if you go to Harding on Thursday night, you might see a baseball game but it will not be the Finals of the MECA-8 or SW4A. Next year both games are going to be played at Hopewell. Trust me on this one.

Great to hear that the SW4A and the MECA-8 championship finals will both be held @ Providence on Friday, 5/14, with the MECA-8 @ 6:00pm and the SW4A @ 8:00pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why did hopewell get the # 3 seed over central cabarrus? does this hold up for the playoffs also or just for the tournament

Coin flip and it's just for the tournament.

If neither team wins the tourney, they will have a play-in game to see who gets the 3rd seed (unless a dark-horse wins the conf tourney).

Independence got the top-seeding over North Meck for the tournament via coin-flip also.

    Time Change:

First round game at North Mecklenburg will begin at 5 PM. (I guess they are trying to build in a little time-buffer in case there is a late evening short thunder-boomer.

North Meck will be facing Harding

    Hopewell vs Vance to follow.
