Maybe we could ask the NCHSAA to require all scores be called in/faxed to their office??? At least SOMEONE would have a central repository that way, but sorting through it would be a "bear".

NCHSAA would never do that. They already have lightened their load with some items (schools don't have to SEND in eligibility sheets), I don't see the state being responsible for accumulating all scores and records of teams.

Bottomline, coaches need to have a better sense of program and send in their results. I'm tired of hearing coaches say, "I don't want my team ranked" or I just don't have time. Sometimes these are the same guys that wine and complain about their players not getting recognition or recruited. Also, baseball coaches often feel their voice goes unheard on issues like scheduling and play-offs. No wonder, we can't even get a united effort to call/email our scores in.

I have had coaches in my conference that dont call in scores to the local media as mandated in the Conference by-laws. I try to call in win or lose but some dont and I dont know why. If we want our programs promoted , then we need to promote our programs and players. There are coaches in the Raleigh-Durham area that will not nominate their good players for the State Games, and give them an opportunity to be scouted in an excellent atmosphere. Heck the scouts will not be at Legion games that week they will be in W-S at the State Games.

Its a crying shame that all of us dont promote our teams/players.

The New Polls are out. We have a new #1 in 4A ....

Impact Baseball (click on Team Polls)
JH Rose has taken over the top spot in 4A. TC Roberson is a no-brainer in 3A, East Rutherford continues to dominate the 2A ranks and South Stokes is in it's usual position in 1A.

Can't believe Ragsdale dropped from 3rd to 9th losing only once in their last 19 games. On the road to their arch rival no less, an Eastern randolph team that needed the win to secure a playoff spot and should probably be in the Top 10 themselves.

Please note that Ragsdale hung one of the three losses on Northeast Guilford, beating their ace Mitch Atkins and also is one of the few teams that beat the new #1 in 4A.

Expect some noise from Ragsdale in the post season

Late season losses will always hurt more in the standings than an early season loss.

With 350+ teams to consider, most of whom have never seen each other, it's always difficult to measure east vs west.

Polls are for fun and debate. They give you a rough idea but that's all. If you go see team "X" play, and it's the only time you get to see them in a single season, you really can't tell if they are playing above their heads or if they were just down that day.

I don't agree with most polls, but I also know I couldn't do as well. Not enough information and everyone has a tendency to either "look through rose-colored glasses" or "just see the warts" on a team.

I agree NC, but Wossa is right. Ragsdale not only has a great record, but has some huge wins on their side.Their most recent loss was a legit one against a strong team...much like AC's and South Meck's...which I might add, fortunately dropped just one position.
