As of last night, no one had any idea. It has to be at a neutral site but I'm not sure which school will host it. Discussions are centering on Harding and Vance right now. Some people were requesting that it be played today so that they could also attend the joint Meca-8/SW4A championship night on thursday, but I don't think it can happen that soon. I know they want it over before friday.

We should know full details by this afternoon.

    North Meck - 8 Hopewell - 1

    WP - Zack Rosenbaum
    LP - Jaryd Keesee

North Meck jumped out to an early lead, scoring 5 runs in the 1st inning. Neither pitcher had their best stuff, but Rosenbaum was still very effective and had enough command to get the job done. North's quick bats and great speed on the bases allows them to put runs on the scoreboard. For North, Blake Epps was 2-2 and John Kellet had a 2-run homerun. Hopewell was held to 4 hits, one each for Dan Woodall and Matt Gardner. Dusty White was 2-3, and had the only RBI for the Titans. Hopewelll awaits the game with Central Cabarrus to determine the 3rd place seed for the State Tournament.

You aren't going to BELIEVE this one catamount ..... but here's the scoop.

Thursday, 13th 7:00pm at NW Cabarrus

Yes, NW Cabarrus is 3A, Yes NW Cabarrus is in the NPC .... and NW Cabarrus is probably the one school that is pretty much equidistant from Hopewell and Central Cabarrus. I think it's very nice of the school and administration to agree to go to the bother of hosting an non-conference matchup, with the field prep and everything.

Kudo's to their coaching staff and AD on this one !!!!!!!

    NPC 3A Semis

    Kannapolis 12
    Statesville 0

Everyone hit it hard for Kannapolis while Andrew Mead threw the complete game 5-inning shutout. The coach for Statesville got thrown out arguing a call in the second on a pop fly that the umps ruled a catch for the Kannapolis right fielder, and to be honest, it sure didn't look like a catch. Kannapolis plays the winner of NW Cabarrus and W. Rowan for the NPC tourney championship tomorrow night at 7 @ W. Rowan.

    In the SPC tourny semis,

Piedmont beat Weddington 2-1 in 8 innings. Timmy King threw all 8 for Piedmont allowing only 5 hits (the run came on a solo shot by Josh Mangum) and striking out 17 batters. He had one stretch where he struck out 7 straight batters. Unbelievable performance.

JM Robinson beat Concord 5-2. Concord was up 2-0 for the first couple of innings before JMR hit back to back homers and never looked back.

Tomorrow's Championship is between Piedmont and JM Robinson. If Piedmont wins, JMR has to play Weddington to decide who the other playoff team is. If JMR wins, JMR and Weddington both go to the state playoffs.

Stumpman, I never heard a confirmation of what time the game will be. Either 7 or 7:30 tomorrow night.

I might be wrong.. but NWC is a Cabarrus County School and thats who runs the fields... i'm sure the staff at NWC will accomodate.. but i would think the county has last say on who uses the field..
