Central Cabarrus (28-1) will host Myers Park (22-2) on Friday Night at 7 PM. This will be the 1st ever game under the lights at Central Cabarrus HS. The work at the field has been nothing short of a miracle. Too many things to memtion, but CFBAll and CometFAn know the difference. Our facility went from a 3 to an 8 in a year with more improvemets scheduled. It shoulder be a great game with Myers PArk. :applause: :xyzthumbs

Like you said ccfastpitch, too many improvements to mention. Thanks to Charles, Jim and many others for their hard work in making CC of of the nicest softball facilities in NC. What a great job you have done. Thanks again!!

I am so sorry that I will miss the fist game under the new lights. I have a granddaughter graduating from Lake Norman Friday Night.

    Good luck Friday!

I know a former coach at Central named Dennis Cook, but he has not helped any on the field. The current parents are the only ones who have done the work. Great job for a great program. :applause:

why would you expect to see a parent that has moved on to support a daughter now playing in college?

Good question, but many of us do continue. My DD has played out her college eligibility (4 yrs) and I still work and coach at her old high school.
But I know Dennis. Hes a good coach and has a Knows the game. He would ba an asset to any program.

Last night, I had the honor of watching a game at Central. The field lite up for the first time made for an awesome softball environment for two great softball teams. Thanks to all the CC parents for their hard work, and the crew who put the lights up, it truely made the field shine.
Between the lines, I believe the two best teams in the state battled for seven great innnings. Each team had their chances but the pitching of O' Connor and Allen shut down any scoring threat. O' Connor was great scattering six hits and striking out 6. Allen meet the challenge of facing the Gatorade Player of the Year by allowing one hit and striking out 12, including the side in the seventh.
Both teams battled back and fourth till Allison Presnell went down 0-2 and battled back to walk to lead off the seveth. A great bunt by Chasity Covenington, lead to a error that put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no one out. An intentional walk, and a fly out later set the stage for Central junior Stephen Beatty to drive in the winnning run with a blast up the middle.
It was a shame this game could not be played at Raleigh, and that one team had to lose. Good luck to Myers Park, especially the Seniors. To Central, I wish you nothing but continued success at THE CREEK.

To the state of North Carolina. Please widen I-77 many people arrived late because of traffic headed into Charlotte.
