Congratulations to Independence. They are doing great. Our HS team played them twice during the year and you could tell that they had something special going on. They are a double threat. Not only do they have pitching, which everyone knows about, they can hit the ball and hit it well. The second time we played them, I was really surprised how well they put the ball in play, with two strikes and there didn’t appear to be any real weak spots in the lineup.

One other possibility for the future of Independence Baseball??????

With their great success in baseball this season, maybe the football team will find another place to practice than the baseball diamond????????? nahhhhh !!!!!!! But it's a nice thought.

    Hey NCBBALLFAN,
You have me thinking now. Joe Cox has been seen at many of the baseball games. I thought he was there to cheer on his friends but it might be to make sure the baseball players don't mess up his practice field! I know this isn't the place to do it but congrats to him signing with Duke. He is a great kid.

I can't think of a better place .... besides, all of us old timers remember him as a pitcher/hitter in his "youth". Way to go "Joe"......

Not being familiar with "Zebulon, NC", I went to mapquest to look it up ... interestingly enough, it's right next to Lizard Lick, NC .... hope that helps fans find it !!!!!

Zebulon is the last NC entry "NC: Zebulon / Five County Stadium"

for the NC State location, go to "NC: Raleigh / Doak Field"
