Even with a tryout, I don't think the team would look much different. Chandler has assembled most of the best of the best as it is. Plus, as much as Chandler has done for fastpitch softball in NC over the years, this is a well deserved way to honor his commitment to the game.

If it wasn't for Ray's efforts and dedication, we would still be playing slowpitch in NC high school softball. As a result of his efforts, NC high school student athletes are now recruited to softball in college. :applause: Prior to Ray's involvement, very few, if any, NC slowpitch players were ever recruited to play fastpitch.

This game tomorrow will be a great experience to enjoy and a tremendous boost for fastpitch softball in NC and SC. :xyzthumbs

Coach Chandler sounds like a good man. Doesn't he also coach at a high school somewhere?

This is interesting. CF, can you give me a little history about fastpitch softball in NC? When did it start..by whom...who were the instrumental leaders?

    For those who care:
Evan Miller and Vickie Perry were left off the roster printed this morning in the Observer.
Evan played for USC-Spartanburg and Vickie played for Lenoir Rhyne.

Have there been any alternative scheduling plans in case of bad weather?
The threat of thunder storms is on schedule in the weather. And how would we be able to find out if cancelation is made?

I spoke to an ASA official in Burlington this past weekend and he said that Thursday was the rain date and if it rained then it would not be rescheduled. The tickets are non-refundable. He did say that if the game could not be played they would still try to have an autograph session.
