I am not taking sides with anyone here but in my opinion these coaches only have 20 spots to fill with over a 100 players. There are only so many players the coaches can choose from. When coach Gresham(sp?) and the rest of the coaches look at the list they look for names to jump out at them. For example, Kyle Shelton and Chris Taylor (just examples, nobody take it personal if i didn't mention your wonderful son, these are two guys that I know). When they saw those two names, and with the reputation they have, they pretty much are on the team. Is it right, maybe - maybe not? If I was the coach, I would want those two on my team because they are born leaders. Coaches are looking for guys to go out there and pick everybody up and bring a different level of intensity to the field. They find the ones that will led their team to victory over the East squad and vice versa. There is no reason for anybody out there to be ignored in any way, evey person should have the same opportunity as the rest. I am sorry that your son was(in your opinion) ignored, I am sure coach Gresham has nothing against your son. They had to choose the best 20 to go and win the games, and your son name wasn't one of them. Last year I tried out and didn't make it, was I upset no, because I was on the team that ended up finishing third in Jupiter, Florida and it was the best group of men I have ever played with. Just because your son didn't make the State Games team, life goes on. There are some great AAU teams, camps, legion teams (and the list goes on) out there to get your son the exposure he needs. I am very sorry if your son got shafted, but there are other ways of being seen by the scouts. So in closing, best of luck to everybody that tried out and made it, you will represent us well. To the rest, life goes on and you will find your place in college ball, there are a ton of schools out there looking for you, and you will find the right place for you if you want to continue your baseball career.

    Go West!!!!!(No offense East)

Thanks Lefty for your well thought post. I love it when a player comes on and makes a great point...especially one that I know and have a great admiration for.

If some of your comment was directed towards mamaslam...have no fear. He has received a terrific scholarship to college and does not need the exposure.

    Go West!!!!!

Thanks Braves. I have more of a admiration for you and I could wish I could grow up and be like you. You have three great kids and they have two of the most loving parents. Thanks for all you have done for me Braves.

Tell the fisherman he should come down this weekend to do some fishing sometime....

Good job West!!! I was looking at the line-ups and there is so much great talent on both teams. Thats why North Carolina is year in - year out one of the best baseball states, high school and college. Congrats to the West team on two great wins.

Thanks for the rosters. Can anyone also list where these players attended high school and where they are going to play in college?
