I would like to get some feed back into forming a new league for the 19u. Something in the line of what the American Legion does for baseball.
Maybe the VFW would be interested.
    Give me your thoughts.

I believe Howard at NSA is trying to gauge the interest in something along those lines. Check the NSA web page. I think there would be interest. Freshman from college coming home for summer may not have gotten much playing time, and may want the game time. Excellent idea

I think it would be a great idea if it were set up like legion ball with teams from different areas playing a season then playoffs. Have'nt checked the NSA site yet but I don't think it would be a great idea if it were set up in a travel ball format. Just from my personal situation, my daughter is simply burned out with the travel ball after so many yrs, she said she would still enjoy playing, but not willing to give up all her weekends out of town at the fields all day. She has had some opportunities to play in college but is not sure because of the time involved. Maybe something like this would help the girls decide and it would really help the girls who are already playing in college or getting ready to. I'm pretty sure we could round up a team or two in Yadkin county. If anyone is interested in trying to get together and play some experimental games this summer let me know, maybe we could work something out. I'm not a coach but know enough people to get some things lined up here.

actually the idea of this have been milled around for years........but with all the good tournaments(asa and nsa) or showcasers during the summer, early fall, most prefer to keep the weekdays for the most part just for the girls and thats 3 days off for them. Nonetheless, we here in cleveland, rutherford and gaston county support the idea and could also fill a couple of interested teams with a few considerations of course for those big tourneys in June and July! With this networking we have in place NOWaDays.......this could happen!! :D

CF, I agree because the big showcase tournaments are where the girls are going to be seen and that is what it's all about, but I think that something like this would be great if it were put together the right way by the right people. I doubt that the VFW would get involved but local community team should be able to get some sponsorship. Even if you could schedule a double-header one night a week on a weeknight it would be a start and should'nt interfere with travel ball much. If you could round up 6 teams you could play a 10 game season in a little over a month. I think it could be done in the fall even this yr as an experimental thing but I realize that the ones in college would'nt be able to participate. I'm not really sure what the age limits are for legion baseball, but I think there would be some interest from several current high school players. I would love to see the girls get the same opportunities that the boys do.

some many details will have to be worked out on the fall experimental thought.........volleyball and tennis players during the week are out here and luck to get them on weekends so thats one concern

DHs are going on now, as the Southern Explosion 18u and several upstate SC teams have done several of them this year already(see EnkaJet04...) and you can bet all involved want to contiune this and hopefully, expand it!! right EnkaJet04 and Spartan30 !!!!!
we could play at GWU and USCS at least two evenings a week on this end if their coaches agree again!!! :D for our USCS Friend(s) :xyzthumbs

several local colleges play travel ball teams during the fall months is a great assest and extremely helpful and beneficial to all. i hope this contiunes to expand or perhaps we can organize with a few of them for a month schedule....AUGUST!! :D

just my two cents from over here

If this is to be done I would like to see the mound go to 43 ft. for the 19's and the rising freshmen in college. This is something that can happen if people will get together, have a meeting and go from there. I have plans to meet with the District VFW members in Sept. for forming next year.
I think you would first have to form districts and pick one team from each district. Then set your schedule according to the number of teams.
This would be like an all-star team. You would hold tryouts and get sponsors.
Charge at the gate and run concession.
Format would have to be decided as to double-hitters, single game on various night of the week or a round robin on weekend.
You could use the same format that the American Legion uses, etc. districts,
high school fields or city parks.
Fastest growing sport in america, would hate to see this lose out.
Let's make it work. Let's bring this to our towns.

Why not make a 23 and under team and let the older girls get involved as well. College girls need a place to maintain competition level during the summer. You could join a Women's Majors league.
