Second Round Legion Playoff Games

Game 4 in Hendersonville:

Gastonia 5
Henderson County 8

Henderson County closed out the best-of-five series advancing to the next round.

Gastonia got out to an early 5-0 lead but Luke Lovelace was able to work 6.1 innings of scoreless relief to allows Henderson County to mount a rally.

Seth Williams added a two-run double to tie the game. Two batters later Matt Walters hit a three run homerun to put Henderson County ahead for good.

 

From the Gastonia Post 23 crowd, except for the final outcome , it was a fun series to participate in! It was baseball at it's best - great pitching performances, fabulous plays, dramatic HRs - this series had it all.

Best of luck to the Henderson County team against Caldwell Co. We'll try to drive up to watch a couple of games.

 

Shelby Post 82 sweeps the Gaston Braves. Good job guys. :xyzthumbs I was worried about a let down after the Cherryville series. When you play your long time rival to 5 games in the playoffs it would be easy to do. Now just keep on truckin', an we will see you all here in Shelby for the State Legion Tourney. :xyzthumbs
