I did pretty good, had a few good throw outs and no passed balls. I hit a few doubles and put down some key bunts. The Canes did great, we won our first 2 elimination games. Against the Outlaws we kind of fell apart, some attitudes got in the way. And against the thrillers we played w/ our hearts and put everything we had into that game, but lost at the last second.

The beaches were great and the sunset too, I just had a bit of a problem w/ the seaweed. It was horrible. And yes I had a GREAT time. I'm just sad that it's over, and now my search begins for a new team. Right now I'm sittin here watching the games to see what all I can do to improve, and it's not easy watching the games we lost.

The Cabarrus County Challengers finished 5th out of 66 teams in the Hot Times Classic Showcase in Florence this weekend. We won our first two games in elimination play and then ended up losing to the Carolina Lightening 5-4 in a game that was a battle against the clock. Once we were in the losers bracket we fought back beating the Virginia Lady Eagles, Georgia Peaches Gold, and Richmond Storm. We ended up losing to The Contenders from Miami Florida 5-2. The teams that were still left when we lost were The Contenders, The Flames(SC), The Crush, and The Richmond Ruckus. Overall it was a great tournament, and I really enjoyed it. :)

Also, I would like to congratulate Allison Presnell and Jessie Whitesides for joining the homerun club along with 6-time veteran Karie Pushard. :applause:

The Lady Blues and Carolina Cardinals were co-Champs at the ASA regional tourney this past weekend. Lots of rain showers caused some problems but two NC teams took care of Ga and Tenn. Some great games were played! Both teams earned berths to the Nationals in California and will be competing in that tourney Aug. 2-8 in Clovis. Good luck Cardinals, U ladies are a tough line-up to face and play clean and hard! See U in Cal! RET

Our Carolina Comets didn't make it to the finals of the Hot Times Tournament. However many of our girls was scouted by the college scouts, and that was what the tournament was all about. We are very happy about what the scouts had to say about our players. Good tournament!
