    Game 1

    Caldwell Co. 10
    Pineville 4

WP Nigro 8 innings 1 earned run 7 hits
Caldwell made several errors early and Pineville returned the favor late in the game. Pineville starting pitcher had great game. Left around the 7th due to high pitch count.

Can someone post a recap of these games?..like to know what's happening for both teams. Is Greene playing for Caldwell?

I'll tell ya what I can.

Game 3 was in front of 600 strong at MS Deal. Caldwell was down 2-0 early after Alex Fairweather had problems in the first. He ended up going 7 and striking out 11 or 12. Caldwell had some base runners erased, two gunned down at the plate on great plays in the outfield. With the score tied at 2, Josh Bentley hit a 2 run shot to put Caldwell up for good.

I will say that was a very well played game all around. There was a little scrape after a collision at the plate but nothing came out of it. It was a good hard play all around and emotions were running high.

On a side note, I replied to a thread a few months back about the quality of legion baseball. One of my arguements was confirmed tonight. These two teams are loaded with rising college players, who played in front of 600 loud fans and everyone seemed to live and die on every pitch. A fan took home 500$ plus from the half and half drawing. Tell me again how legion baseball is dying.

Jonathan Greene did not play for Caldwell (I think thats who you are asking about). Caldwell's 18 man roster was comprised of:

Cody Coffey, Alex Fairweather, Chris Mathes, Jesse Beane, Matt Braswell, Elliott Collins and Chad Bowman from West Caldwell
Madison Bumgarner, Russell Reid, Shane Coffey, TJ Jenkins, and Casey Morris from South Caldwell
Kody Hightower and Zak Laws from Hibriten
Josh Leyshon and Chris Nigro from Watauga
Josh Bentley from Lenior-Rhyne (played at South Caldwell)
TJ Wilson went to Wingate, but didn't play (also from South Caldwell)

    Pineville

couldn't catch a pop fly (x3) but here is the series in a nutshell:

as a team, Pineville seems to want to play in a country club where everyting is served up just nice; Caldwell takes the game and its faults and its umps in stride making it a dogfight. How many Caldwell "foul tips with 2 strikes" and "stick the bat out for a judy" :applause: vs Pineville called 3rd strikes? :nono: Both teams complain loudly but Caldwell does it better in the batter's box.

I will try to recap some of game 1

Caldwell got 2 in the bottom of the 2nd on back to back homers from Reid and Bumgarner off Joey Cutler. In the top of the fifth Pineville got an earned run on a walk to Rummage, a single by Snell, and a filders choice. Caldwell trailed 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth. Kevin Spain replaced the pitcher Cutler who had a high pitch count. Bumgarner had a single moved to second on an error and scored on a double to center by Jenkins to pull within one run. In the bottom of the seventh Bentley singled to left and advanced to third on 2 filders choice outs. With Bentley on third and Bumgarner on first, Braswell hit a long 2 run double to deep right centerfield gap to give Caldwell its first lead 5-4. Caldwell scored 5 unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth. Jenkins reached on an error, moved to third on a single by Wilson to left. Jenkins scored on a passed ball by Northrup.
