If that was Inman then I bet Kensmoe starts tomorrow night. I was surprised he didn't start tonight as it has been Mullins and Kensmoe back to back for awhile.

Catbacker - where did you come from? I thought I was the lone greensboro ranger on this board. Good to have another fan if you are associated with the Greensboro team.

I still do not know why there was such a rush to finish the Winston Salem/Greensboro series. If this Area III final ends up tomorrow night these two teams will have 9 days before the state starts on August 4th.That's way too much time between games.I don't think either team can be sharp with that much layoff between games.

i agree KTY but if it would go the distance it would be 7 days and if it would have been a best of 7 series it would have been 5 days off.. which would have been great for teams to get rested and still be sharp..

Glad to see you're still alive and kicking, Intimidator Coach! Football is just around the corner. I'm really happy to see the Kannapolis 501 Legion team doing so well. And when it comes to Baseball, I know you're around somewhere.

To clear things up, Kensmoe was not even at the game...Pegram started, then a young ragsdale player, and then Inman... Baker has been out due to a sore elbow, but should be ready for the state playoffs...If i were to bet, I would bet that Justin Brown pitches. Now, for Kannapolis, Meade started, then was out due to a knot in his upper back. In comes Drew Burris, who looks good as usual but was only in for a few innings due to a few too many walks. Nick Diakun, who got the win came in (who played for greensboro last year), and then Robert Bowers finished it up in the 7th. Looks like Osbourne was getting all his arms a few innings to sharpen up for the states...

    Area III Finals.....

    Game 2: Kannapolis-22 over Greensboro-7....

All I can say about last night's (Game 2) is "WOW". I'm not sure how many runs Greensboro has allowed all year, but 22 in an Area finals game??? I think everyone knows that Greensboro has better pitching than that, and I'm sure Greensboro will bounce back. On the other hand, everyone in the Southern Division has known all year long that Kannapolis has a very good hitting ballclub 1-9 too. Greensboro is certainly capable of coming back in this series, but the Kannapolis hitters are awful hot right now. Whatever the outcome of this series, I believe Area III will be well-represented in Shelby.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Schedule for Monday July 26....
    Game 3: Kannapolis(29-8) at Greensboro(25-6) (Ktown leads series 2-0)

p.s. There's obviously a lot of excitement around the community about this Kannapolis team, because the crowds at the ballpark have been great!!! :applause:

p.s.s. Just heard that there's a 70% chance of strong thunderstorms today... :teeth:

weather is looking good so far - hope it maintains through the evening.

so who's making the trip? tj? K-town yankee? Intimidator coach?

I'll wander down to the concession stand after the second inning - and ask everybody that walks up - are you the yankee? are you tj? :laugh1:
