My fav Pineville Legion player is known as the Vindicator. Why I'm not sure, other than he's been relatively unsung and under the radar for the past couple of years and has proven himself to be a competitor and reliable teammate in every situation.

From his first start, a 3 hit shut-out vs Providence HS, 2 seasons ago to his final pitch last night vs Caldwell County the guy always wanted the ball. He thrived in Cherryville, at MS Deal, in Shelby... anywhere the fans were loud and angry he'd rip snort his way to the hill, kick up some dirt, get his priorities right and do his best.

He's worked through some arm problems, opposing pitchers successfully threw at his head (under orders from their coach in Hendersonville this year), you could hit a dinger off him, but you could never dent his will to compete and he'd never ever back down back down from a challenge.

Well, last night may not have been the picture perfect ending but it came mighty close close! Hats off to you Vindicator... you had a great run! Enjoy life up at Elon! :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

    Pineville's "Vindicator"

I second that. What a great young man, competitor and teammate. An asset to any team. Pineville was very lucky to have him back this year.

I will always remember when the Vindicator would yell out to us in the field, "We can do this guys.....Together!!" That always gave me a good laugh. It was a pleasure having him on my Pineville team last year.

I had this same conversation yesterday with mamaslam. I watch for the players that compete. To me, that is what separates them from the others. You can have all the talent in the world, but without heart...talent will only carry you so far.

    So Long Vindy

I would just like to give a final farewell to 337's Vindicator. It has been a pleasure playing along side him. He has taught me lessons in the game of baseball that will never be forgotten. I have never played along side anyone with the heart and desire that he has. Everyone is going to miss him in the dugout, its gonna be hard to fill his shoes in the coming years. So hats off to you Vindy, you've had an absolutely spectacular career. We are going to miss you!
