Had the chance to see the Chargers practice today...

They are so far ahead of last year on the offense. Both Gullate and Robinson were hitting some nice passes. It sure was a nice looking formation when they lined up with Littlejohn and Padgett both in the backfield. They had plays for each. Had keepers they were working on for Gullate, as well as pass plays out of it. That will be fun to watch.

On the defensive side of things Brandon Spikes is a freaking man-child on the field. It just isn't right what he can do at this age. There are still some question marks in the secondary, but I think that big and quick front seven can help with that.


Also checked out the JV team. The talent pool seems to be pretty deep for the Chargers. They have 2 RB's down there that are great players. Donald Clark and Tosh Toms. Clark would be with the Varsity this year if not for the depth at RB. Tosh will be in the 9th grade. Last year he had a run where he cut a cart wheel over a guy and kept running for a TD. It was one of the most amazing runs I had ever seen at any level. He's already had a couple of eye-popping runs in practice. Of course it will help with the o-line these guys will have. The JV line will average around 260 up front. Right now things are bright in Charger land. Just have to wait and see what happens when they kick it off for real.

Scrimmage at Crest a week from tonight vs East Meck. I can't wait.
