HB EJ Wilson goes down after returning the opening kick-off and the Devil offense sputters to the tune of ONE first down in the first half. Mooresville's young defense hung on as long as they could but finally ran outta gas and Davie pounded away. An interception return for a TD gave the War Eagles a 25-0 lead at the half. Anybody with Davie Co. on the schedule this season had better recognize and if you see them in the post season be ready for a brawl. Mooresville leaves the game realitively healthy with the eception of Wilson (ankle sprain) and will travel to 4A S. Rowan next Friday. Go Big Blue!

Independence 48 Butler 0...and Butler actually thought they were going to beat Indy

EDIT: to clear any misunderstanding. Butler is one of the few teams that have the talent to compete with Independence. Most teams that play Indy are beat before they play, but Butler actually felt they would win. That was my intentions in this post. If read differently, then you have the problem

    that was a helluva game.

Tied at 21 at the half

    Tied at 28

    Tied at 35.

Baker scores on a 65 yard run with about 2 minutes left. Western drives the field - scores with about 45 seconds left - goes for two and gets it. Ragsdale tried to move the ball but ended up throwing a deep interception.

TE Brandon Phelps for Ragsdale had four touchdown catches tonight - Baker scored twice. Ragsdale shot themselves in the feet again this year against Western - Gave up a 100 yard kick return in the first half - fumbled away a punt to set up Westerns first score - Fumbled away on the 15 then threw an interception in the endzone - both in the 2nd quarter killing scoring chances.

Ryan Stell is an awesome QB- 330 yards and three TDs and the big 2 point conversion - I knew when Baker scored with 2 minutes left we left Western with too much time on the clock.

I'm glad we don't have to play Stell anymore. Even though Baker got his 240 yards Western still defended him well.
