Just wanted to check in and see how the players are doing at the JUCOs around. Maybe some of you can post on how the fall practices are going and how the adjustment to college is going for you. I know this is a good time to get exposure for your respective teams since a lot of the 4 year schools are only throwing, running and lifting weights right now, whereas you guys are playing in fall games and practicing every day. I know we have one on here from LCC, reigning Region X Div. II champs (JM15), as well as some from Surry, reigning Region X Div. I champs, and one or more from Louisburg. Any others feel free to post as well. Also, if you can remember any names, tell us how the showcase teams are looking that you may be playing and what players are standing out. I hear that all of the high schoolers Louisburg had signed that were drafted are going to school there, so that should make for some interesting situations when it comes to who gets innings in the spring. But they will have one heck of a staff. Thanks and good luck to all!!

Weather has been a pain in the butt, but a lot of hard-work has still been done here at LCC. Finished 5th in the Country last year (D2 JUCO) and this year we want more. I'll keep you updated with any info. I feel is message board material. Good luck to everyone.

Son went up to visit a former teammate who's now at Blue Ridge in Flat Rock. The were playing the Uwharie Anglers.

Blue Ridge is young this year ... very young. They are hunting for someone to protect Adam McSwain in the lineup since he's their biggest long-ball threat. According to his report, the Anglers struggled a bit against the JUCO pitching, but were playing good defense and pitching well. He left after 7 innings with Blue Ridge only up 3-1.

Now, everything in the mountains seems to be under a couple feet of water. Don't know how it's going to affect the fall workouts.

Almost, Chris McConnell had signed with Louisburg but he was drafted by the Royals in the 9th round and ended up signing. All the rest went to Louisburg. They will have a very good staff this year I think.
