yeah i heard the megastars did really well up at nc state this weekend. they have a great team with alot of talent. i do not think they are going down to the underclassmen world chamipnships (wwba, perfect game) in ft. myers this friday though. although i do know of 2 palyers from their team that will go down and play for another team, matt gantner a catcher, who transferred to char. christian this year from Wisconsin. and charles bradley, a 2B, from christian as well. good luck to them

Braves, Thank you for the compliments on Jerrod!! :xyzthumbs As a humbled father I am very proud of him so far. I love the game and more than that It warms this person's heart to see young people both men and women (have a daughter to who plays sports to) work and be successful.
I hope we meet someday!! I like the TBR shirt idea. Put in a order for me! :xyzthumbs
Now about Coach Evans??? I hope you get your check......yea right!!!LOL!
I know Steve has the kids best interest at heart!!! I hope my son and the team will realize what they have in Coach Evans and play there best for him. I know mine will. Coach Evans has a pretty good team returning in my opinion and I hope the next couple of seasons will be good to him!! Man I can't wait for highschool baseball to start.....guess that is another thread for later!!!lol!
Thanks again Braves for the kind words and I hope our paths will cross.
When the highschool season starts I keep the website for the Person Rockets also along with the Titans. Is there somewhere on this site where we can post team websites?
By the way I forgot to say Andy Partin is doing a great thing (IMHO) with Impact!!! :applause: That is a thankless job he has undertook!! Thanks Andy!

    Charlotte Megastars/Impact Challenge

I can give a few comments on the 18U Megastar group. I suggest IndyDad join in as he can give additional comments on the 18U group and then give some input as well on the 17U group.....We had strong pitching all weekend – playing 9 inning games instead of 7 inning games didn’t affect us – although I suspect it did some other teams. Matt Dameron, Dane Arneson, Brendan Van Popering & Dusty White all threw multiple strong innings (Matt went the entire 1st game as we ended it early). The top of the batting order (Tillman, Bray, Cook and White) were solid all weekend, but the remainder of the lineup (which gets changed up frequently) including Whitten, Castevens, Gardner, Wallace, Zachodzki, Arneson, Price, Satterfield, Van Popering, & Dameron are solid as well and can hit and push runs across very effectively. Coach McNeely has the team playing together very well right now. The infield and outfield, as well as the catching is continuing to play with few mistakes – when we have had errors, we have been able to recover and not lose the game. The boys (and parents) are really enjoying themselves and savoring this last fall of being teammates…knowing that next year at college, things will be very different, as the boys start a new chapter in their lives, and hopefully for all of them a new chapter in their baseball life as well.

    Megastars

I usually don't post about specific players fearing I might leave someone out but here goes:
The 17U Megastars played very well this weekend behind the hitting of Keith Mauney, Timmy King and Evan Taylor. Evan Taylor hit three out in the three games. Charles Bradley was very solid on defense and the starting pitching of Drew Wallace, Robby Bray and Timmy King was not a friendly sight for the opposing team.
It's hard to pick out specific players on the 18uU team because it really was a team effort. Those kids really play well together. Coach McNeely rotates the three outfielders each inning as well as rotating the third baseman, shortstop and second baseman. Thsi gives the guys a chance to play multiple positions in a game for the recruiters in attendence and the kids don't miss a beat.
The schools I saw this past weekend were UNC-Charlotte, Mars Hill, Belmont Abbey and NC State.

    Megastars

How have the Megastars done against some of the colleges they have played this fall. I think they played some Juco's (not sure who) and maybe some other. Just wondering the scores, highlights, results, etc. Coach McNeely does a great job with this program.
