    Nice wkend event

The host Vance HS was great. Fields in good condition, games on time umpires not too full of themselves.

The Impact Rookies and 17 O's tied 5-5 after the O's let a 5-1 lead slip away. Morris was effective in relief for the Rookies. Andruss was effective in the start for the O's.

The younger Copperhead team beat Impact and were leading the O's 8-1. The O's began climing out of the hole they dug and finally tied the game 8-8 when time expired.

The older Copperhead team beat the O's 5-3 behind a strong outing by #19 from AL Brown (sorry the name escapes me). Had 7-9 K's in 5 2/3 inning before being pulled. Lots of movement and very good command.

UNCC staff reportedly at that game.

It's great to see these 2 guys doing well this fall. It'll be even more fun watching them go at each other next year in school ball. Both are great kids, good students, and awesome competitors. :applause: :applause:

    BTW: It's Blake Ketner :xyzthumbs

    Game 1

O's gave up 4 runs on 2 errors with the Copperheads not hitting the ball out of the infield in the first inning. Sherril's gem (1 hit) and O's errors overshadowed a strong performance by the O's pitcher T McConnell.

    Game 7

Morris was effective in relief for the Rookies. Also the Rookies catcher was firing peas and looked very good. On the other side, M Andruss was effective in the start for the O's. O's Leading Hitter: K Fulginiti 3-3, 1 RBI

    Game 9

    Bard couldn't get comfortable early for the O's. Went 3 innings. M Fulginiti effective in relief for O's. O's Leading Hitters: K Fulginiti 2-4, 2B, 3 RBI; K Carrigan 1-3 ,2B; M Fulginiti 2-3, 2B

Special Thanks should go out to the South Charlotte Panthers and the Copperhead TPX 16U for getting this tournament together on short notice.
The entire event went smoothly with some great competition, and nail-biter games.

The young Copperhead TPX team established themselves this weekend as the ones to watch, with strong pitching from Justin Brock 06, John Danza 06, and Brandon Whitt 07; and Strong relief pitching came from 08 Adam Waters. They kept hitters off balance, effectively changing speeds, and showing dominating velocity by Whitt. :applause:

The Copperhead TPX team showed timely hitting, taking advantage of walks and errors. The hitting was balanced throughout the line up, top to bottom. With few long ball threats, the Copperheads effectively hit the ball to all fields. Despite the fact there are only four 06, three 08, & eight 07's, these guys are fun to watch. This is a young team on the rise!

The Carolina Copperhead program has evolved as one of the top programs in the area, if not the country. Finishing 6th at the Perfect Game Wood Bat Nationals (at East Cobb), right along side the South Charlotte Panthers (7th). The Perfect Game Tourn. had (by far) the strongest competition of any tournament I saw this past summer. The Copperheads TPX team also had a strong 2nd place finish at the ___________ Nationals in Myrtle Beech, SC ( name escapes me..)

The Coaching Staff is made up of professional players, and HS coaches from N. Mecklenburg and Hopewell HS. With a professionally structured training program, they train weekly at Diamond Dreams Training Facility in Concord, NC. The coaching staff is dedicated to properly preparing players for "the next level", fundamentally, mentally, and physically. The team is based out of Huntersville, NC.

Keep your eye on this team!:applause:
